Every manager wants to strengthen. My experience tells me you have to concentrate on what you have, a wonderful group that want to get better. whoareyaaa Posted 18 August 2022 Posted 18 August 2022 I think what done it for a lot is the way he spoke about us last season not been able to compete with teams like West Ham and such, then says we need a rebuild then starts the season playing in the same manner as last season with little changes, in fact we look worse with Vardy on his own up top and Amartey coming into a back 3. 1

He said we needed a rebuild at a time when these FFP changes were not revealed, or at least the effects of weren't.

Rodgers and Congerton have filled our squad with over paid shite and now Rodgers is feeling the effect of that as we can't shift them and in turn can't sign any new signings. Rodgers isn't to blame for everything and I'm sure the people above him have made/are making mistakes but ultimately there seems to be little faith in Rodgers and it seems the club might be hoping he'll resign to save sacking him!

Rodgers has played a blinder by getting all the media on his side and feeling sorry for him, when this is all his mess! When he took over we already had Kasper, Ricardo, Evans, Soyuncu, Ndidi, Maddison, Tielemans, Barnes, Vardy & only Fofana, Justin & Castagne start from the players he’s signed in around 3 and a half years! He’s bloated our squad with crap signings on big wages like Praet, Perez, Vestergaard, Bertrand, Soumoure who we can’t shift and that’s the reason why we can’t sign anyone, nothing to do with him not being backed like the media kept portraying. I’ll be honest, I think the club are reluctant to back him. We put a lot of trust in him and let him come away from our model that worked so well over the years by bring in all his own men like Congerton who’s been bombed already, his own medicine man who’s been bombed already + all his signings in which a majority have been a disaster. He’s only ever said good things about the club, the board but he’s started having little digs recently which tells me there has been a breakdown somewhere. His negativity and defeatist attitude is already rubbing off on the fans and it’s showing in our play on the pitch too. 9

Surely he would know about the finances and such and what he's going to be able to spend it was at the back end of the season, plus we don't really need a rebuild so he was talking waffles.
