Tigers used to kick off an hour before City (don't think they had floodlights or something) and I can remember my Dad doing his nut about the Range Rovers taking up the parking in the cattle market. I think that must be the root of my dislike for Tigers and rugby in general. 2004 just reinforced that.

Lots of thought gone into this with FFP, revenue from the accommodation and new megastore will be added to allow more spending.

And the revenue from the car park. You could imagine £50'000 on match days alone, not including for the business/entertainment venue and fanstore etc.

I suspect that the resident will have first priority then the hotel maybe even some of the staff/players if the want to clear the front up. I really doubt they'll be many left for the Football and the Arena

I can imagine it being a car free development with disabled residents only being afforded spaces. It's becoming increasingly popular on brownfield sites now. Plus the conveyancing/management plans and legal routes would be an absolute nightmare in this sort of scheme for the owners of the properties if they were allocated them.

Thanks for the insight.

Perhaps the thread title should be changed to 'public consultation now closed'?

Edit: perfect, thanks!

Teeny tiny movement on the planning website with the councils thoughts on the EIA report (just scroll down to page 25 for the summary)

https://planning.leicester.gov.uk/Document/Download?module=PLA&recordNumber=169099&planId=625393&imageId=44&isPlan=False&fileName=Delegated report AS SJM (003) (002)pdf.pdf

The important bit is:

“Leicester City Council as local planning authority considers the proposed scope of the Environmental Statement as set out in EIA Scoping Report dated July 2021 to be acceptable in relation to the effects of the proposed development on land within its area subject to the inclusion of the above additional considerations and information.”

Seems to be a worry about noise but ironically the concern seems to be about how loud it will be for the residents and patrons in the residential and hotel areas

12. Noise and Vibration
Whilst I recognise that music events are already held at the King Power Stadium I do have concerns in relation to the overall levels of noise from future events, including additional noise levels that would be generated from the additional capacity at the extended stadium. These concerns are particularly related to the proposed hotel and residential accommodation that would be built in close proximity to the King Power Stadium. Further, investigation on the likely levels of noise generated will be necessary.
In addition, the proposed scheme includes a 6,000 (standing) capacity indoor conference and exhibition centre – the venue. This use has not been discussed in the noise and vibration section. It is not clear whether the venue centre would also host loud events e.g. music, or other loud events and how noise generated from activity to and from this venue has been considered. Depending on the answer this may need to be considered cumulatively in relation to the frequency of music events held in the King Power Stadium.

Already anticipating noise complaints from hotel guests and residents of the yet to be built tower?

Wonder how many complaints are made by guests at the Holiday Inn Express?

Aye surely if buy or book accommodation next to a football stadium and entertainment venue or any other situation like an airport you should know what to expect.

I'd also assume that most hotel guests will be there to visit those venues.

Can we send out King Power Ear Muffs 🤣

I’d imagine in the interest of balance the report has to indenting weaknesses in the clubs report.

It’s just a scoping report after all, so (correct me if I’m wrong) if/when the club does submit its formal planning application, it will have had to take the points the council raised into account.

I don’t see it being an issue because they will just point to places like Chelsea Village, Emirates Stadium, Wembley Stadium, AFC Wimbledon, Ipswich Town

People move next to a football ground and moan about noise...

Sorry in advance for bumping this!

Just wondered if anyone knows how the consultation period went, think the time frame has elapsed now? I can’t work the planning permission website out, it says “determined”, assume that’s in reference to the time period as opposed to “approved” for example?

Consultation period has ended and is no longer considered active. Looks like it’s been approved, I hope.

The council find the scoping application “acceptable” but there is a bunch of hoops that have to jump through first

The latest plan for demolition shows a change in the ownership boundary, the club must own the eon building now.

That is a good spot. Not seen anything announced but perhaps it's still commercially sensitive. That is a prime location being on the corner of a major road into the city centre. This could prompt a reconfiguration of the position of the other buildings when the hybrid planning application is made (which must be imminent).
