What about those tiered stands that almost go in on themselves ? Someone mentioned on here once that the club were looking at that. Can’t see a stand going back on the other three sides. There’s no room

Someone answering a Q&A after the recent announcement did say that further expansion would be possible, but I would be surprised if it's anything major based on the current plans.

 

If the club has bought the land that the Eon building is on, then maybe the proposed multi-storey car park behind the South stand could be moved elsewhere.


when you consider some of the amazing designs around today, I reckon pretty much anything can be built with the right designer.

I mean, we are not talking about getting a 6 story building on a 20p coin are we so, I think it would be possible.. probably not the same design, of course…

As others have touched on, I think the parking and transport situation needs to be given more attention. 8 thousand extra people will add to the existing matchday stress.

We must hold the club accountable to this and not allow atmosphere to not be a big part in this redevelopment. Send the club the UFS email or your own and let them know it.

It it's outline permission for the car park then Ideally we'd wait for the Eon building ownership to be transferred to us, put the car park there and extend the North stand in the future.

She objected to every proposal the club put forward based solely on too much parking in the area. Became much quieter as we became more successful. The fact that there's an arena and leisure facilities planned means the council will do everything it can to push it through, these are very different times with the club seen as an asset not an eyesore.

They are looking at the implementation of safe standing in other clubs - it definitely sounds like it’s under consideration.


other points that I can remember

- various sources expected for funding, including possibility of working with other companies, eg hotel. The main thing is that they are confident of the funds being there - it’s not judged to be in any way risky

- adamant that 40000 is the right size for now, but hopes for larger in the future

- they asked a specialist firm to review potential impacts on sound and they judged any impacts to be minimal

- very much focusing on the 365 destination with talk of using the space for things like markets and other events

They mentioned that away fans will stay where they are although that became a bit vague when talking about joining the away concourse. Is it currently separated? 

 

New East Stand to be first part of the development (opening scheduled for 2024) before other buildings constructed although timings could be reviewed due to living in a post-pandemic world. 

 

Raw Dykes Monument to be preserved with improved information boards etc. 

 

Could be a return of Pukka Pies. 

 

Susan Whelan is very good.

I thought the safe standing in the upper tier was great at West Ham's stadium
