Could we have been blinded with this RW talk and taken our eyes off the biggest issue which IMO is still at CB?

I know we signed Vestagaard, but can we take the risk that he's going to be fit anytime soon?

Whether it's Kevin, Lookman or Perez playing is not really important if we continue with the pantomime defending!

Surely the defence, especially CB has to be the priority as any system BR plays (or any manager) fundamentally requires a solid foundation at the back.

I hope a couple CBs will be back in the coming weeks so not sure it justifies it tbf.

I hope even a loan is being lined up. Doesn't the loan deadline extend past today anyway?

It's not and it won't be.

Which is reassuring more than anything as it suggests the injuries aren't as bad as they were.

Evans/Fofana/Soyuncu/Vestegaard/Amartey.....Rodgers likes Justin as a wide CB in a 3, Castagne at a push can play in a 3, Ndidi at a push can play CB.

Not interested in wasting money that could be put towards players next summer/january.....Or probably more importantly, new contracts.

It's just a glaring weakness I'd personally want to be extra safe with.

We have caglar and Big Dan fit.

Evans and Vestergaard on short term injuries (hopefully) and Fofana on the the long term injury list.

That's 5 cbs at the club. Plus castagne and Bertrand who can cover there and Benekovic in a real emergency and Justin who's expected back this year can also cover there.

Another CB is overkill in my humble opinion.

No - 11pm is the deadline for the registration of any player, temporary or permanent

Thanks. I'm sure you could in the past but I might be making that up.

We can’t just keep buying players as soon as someone gets injured. We have Evans, Fofana, Soyuncu, Vestergaard, Amartey, Benkovic, all on the payroll, it’s ridiculous ! By all accounts Vestergaard will be back soon with Evans not too far away

I think you're thinking of the loan window which applies (applied?) to the Football League, but not the PL. Not sure if it still happens.

Can you at least quote the right person?

Look I get that but I also read that train of thought as "well we'll just have to put up with defensive blunders and instability for while"

The fine margins in the PL are ridiculous, I'd imagine they're looking on iPads at smallest detail to get a slight advantage. Seems odd everyone's willing to put up with such a glaring problem...

It's like a formula one car being sent out without a front wing in hope that the mechanics can fix one up in the garage in a few laps.

The glaring problem, as you put it, is Soyuncu's form.

Are you suggesting we replace him?

Yes we're thin, but barring the most ridiculous of injury crisis, this is as thin as it gets. We only strengthen from here with the imminent returns of Evans and Vestergaard.

Surely, the squad is full.  3 keepers, 4 full backs (+ Thomas), 5 CB, 2 DM, 4 midfielders, 4 wingers (if you count Perez as a winger), 3 centre forwards .  A fairly balanced squad

Yeah true but hopefully one or two are nearing return to fitness. If money, wages, 25 man squads etc was no object, then sure, bring another CB in, but we have budgets and squad sizes to work within and with 6 senior CBs on the books, comes a point where you gotta just get on with it !
