Hero of mine watching him growing up and one of my favourite players.  I was lucky enough to get into the Directors lounge at the KP 2 years ago and he was in there. After that  game I approached him in my slightly drunken state and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed watching him play all them years back and hope he didnt mind me approaching him.  He asked me to sit down with him and his brother and was keen to have a chat with me and we spoke for around 20 minutes.  City legend and a great man.

I borrowed a season ticket in the Main Stand just a bit away from the directors seats at the infamous Sheff Utd match. I could feel the full weight and toxicity being aimed at those in power but amongst it all was the introduction of a young lad on loan from Chelsea reserves. Clearly I wasn't the only one that had never heard of him but I think most went away thinking he'll never sign for us, far too good.

It's only really been the last few years where you can even begin to question whether he's automatically everyone's favourite Leicester player excluding Arphexad, proper City legend.

One of my favourites, and would be in my all-time best Leicester XI.

Yes, there have arguably been more talented midfield players since - Cambiasso, Maddison etc. - but the length of time he was at the club, his loyalty and the trophies he played an instrumental part in securing means he is a Leicester legend.

I saw him live vs Gillingham in a promotion season and he ran the show that day, was a level above everyone else on the pitch. I think we won 2-0 and he got a standing ovation when he came off, which he richly deserved.

Brilliant player.

He was the player this lad ought or should be.

The best days, the intrigue of being linked to new players that were a mystery on club call

Corica

Taylor

Lennon

I wonder if Izzet would have joined on a permanent if we didn’t get promoted?

a bit of nostalgia, unfortunately hard to find any containing Leicester

This. I still remember sitting on the floor on transfer deadline day just before bed. Going through page after page of transfers on the day hoping to see Leicester’s name. First popped up Julian Watts, then

M.Izzet. Chelsea to Leicester Loan

I remember thinking we probably won’t see him that much. Waited the next day for the Mercury to get all the information. Different times!

Muzzy was an exceptional player. So good both technically and on effort. His role in the O’Neil years was massive but he played such a massive role in getting us back up. We missed Lennon for years and it took us many years to replace him. You can say the same for Muzzy. I think Gareth Williams followed by Stephen Hughes were his first two replacements - god we missed him for years.

He was my favourite player growing up! A real quality player, scored some absolute beauties, had great set piece delivery and a player I tried to model myself on … I failed as I fat and sh*t but that’s not the point ALRIGHT!!??

Agree. Maddison has more ability than Izzet but not the same desire and courage yet.

I don't think he has more ability either to be honest.

His overhead kick at Grimsby is still the greatest Leicester goal I've ever seen live and I doubt it'll be topped.

But I must say his goal at Elland Road in 03/04 is right up there as one of my favourite ever City goals.

A true legend of this club.

One of my all time Leicester favourites as well and so approachable if you bumped into him - he'd always stop for a little chat.

So many moments of magic - should have played for England
