Soumare is new, so he was registered...young-Blood  investment...can Play across the midfield...so by default an improvement.

Soumare has only been here a few months,played only a few games...Getting on his case, is far Too early...

Oh...I have nothing against Mendy..But for his career, better if we Release him now we have others Coming through...

In terms of Mendy, our investment has been poor this summer just gone. I looked at the pitch yesterday and not one new signing gave me confidence they could take this game and change it for us.

You have a very similar opinion on me on this matter. Ive always thought exactly as you, Viera and Gerrard are the 2 i grew up in awe of. Outstanding players and if i had to make an all time Prem 11, my middle 3 would be:

Viera Kante

Gerrard

 

Viera best all round enforcer with strength, power, height and quality. Henry once said, you could play him alone in midfield and he'd win the battle. Similar was said about Kante with his energy work rate and constant press. Them 2 together would be almost impossible to beat.

Youd then need a more attacking midfielder and Gerrard IMO is the best ive ever seen. People will always pick Scholes or Lampard because 'they won more medals' but anyone with a brain can see that Gerrard didnt have anywhere near the quality around him. Gerrard plays for those Utd or Chelsea teams and we'd talking about a player at close to Messi and Ronaldo level IMO.

I also think he played too often as a DM or a RW under Benetez all for the team but as seen when he had a season as a number 10 behind Torres, a prime Gerrard as a number 10 would be a 20 goal midfielder seasons after season.

I used to love that Liverpool midfield of mascherano who was a monster in his prime I don't I've seen better ball retention,  alonso spraying passes and Gerrard as a box to box dynamo

That Liverpool team almost and should of won the league against arguably the greatest Prem team of all time in Utd of 06-09.

That middle, prime Torres and Carragher + Hyypia was a class spine but they had the likes of Lucas, Benayoun, Riera. Kuyt and Aurelio who were not on the same level as Ronaldo Tevez Rooney Evra and Park Ji Sung. Utd always won(similar to City now) because of the incredible depth, however as you say Masherano, Alonso and Gerrard were as good a triangle the Prem has produced.

Wouldn't even bother trying to convince him to stay, guy is probably fed up now and just wants out, time to let him go

I know that we are all having different opinions on this topic.

For me, last game was the another perfect example to reiterate this issue.

Ward-Prowse was sprinting solid 30 metre with the ball while Soumare was trying keep up with him but failed to do so and that's how we conceded our first goal.

We are conceeding goals every week and it's easier to blames our defenders but our real problems lays within our midfield.

N'didi is not in his best and Castagne playing below average football and having 2 heavy, non presser players like Madders and Soumare at the middle of the football pitch is the luxury we can't have.

Mendy is a player that we simply can't let go at the moment.
