...in any business, you would need to be able to plan ahead!!!

If Rodgers chooses to omit Tielemans from the team, to safeguard a potential deal, then it is directly impacting our ability to be the best that we can be at this moment. I am not looking to know for the sake of knowing, because I am curious or impatient in any way. There is endless speculation regarding this matter, and if his name is not on the team sheet or not named in the squad, it will only increase the noise surrounding his departure.

What would be the problem with them (LCFC) coming out and announcing that there is a deadline in place?

Arsenal could choose to ignore it and continue doing what they are currently doing, they could also make a decision to make an offer, or simply walk away. At the moment it appears we are at the mercy of Arsenal and we look weak.

Whatever  posture we take up other than what  we appear to be doing right now, will be better than what we are portraying to the world and our supporters...,

This close to the season starting I would keep Youri / decline any bids.

Youri has to perform to put himself in the best position for Qatar. This helps us whether or not he would prefer to leave.

We will struggle to find a replacement play maker at this point.

Maybe he signs an extension, maybe he signs a pre-contact agreement with someone in January and maybe we sell in the winter window for a small fee. Either way hopefully by then he will have contributed to a strong league finish / cup run and we look again.

I do agree he looks the weak link in that side. Always teetering on the verge of a red card. Booked for simulation first game of the season  :facepalm:really is no hope for him and honestly can’t see why they’ve stuck with him either! Tielemans would be a very good alternative.

Who takes Youris Belgian spot if he's gash/injured?

Or is it likely he just waltzes in regardless?

They often  play 3-4-3 with witzel as the holder and then YT near him breaking forward - but they could use KDB there and adjust further forward. They have options.

I’m surprised Arteta has stick with Xhaka for so long. He’s a liability really

Ditto. I think Granit is a nickname that refers to what's between his ears. He plays like he wants to be sent off.

He does something really dumb, then seems to somewhat atone for it by something half decent - like that block for example last night. Inevitably,  you know he’s going to let you down though😂

Think he’ll go for £15 million myself.

In which case he will have turned us over (and he’s entitled to do that) by specifying one club he’s prepared to go to.

morgan gibbs white - forest bid £25m+ with a year left

there are other illustrations of players with a year left who are worse than YT going for more

Let’s not forget they still have Smith-Rowe and that new lad Viera to fit into that match day squad in the middle of the park. Do they really need tielemans as well?

Also think people get too clouded with Xhaka’s rash side, when he’s on it, he’s very effective.

I think Arsenal will head to a 3-4-3 though eventually

I hope you are right and you might well be. He is worth more at his best but we seem a little desperate frankly and that could well be exploited.

I doubt, if we were looking financially stable, Chelsea would have come sniffing around Fofana or Newcastle around Maddison.

We have allowed a situation, through stupidity, which makes us look incredibly weak.

If we sell Tielemans for 15 mill it will be another indication that we aren’t doing things very well at present.
Selling Youri for what we paid for Vestergaard!

Christ..

We will be the laughing stock of top football if we get that for  25 y.o.with 50 caps.

Then we just refuse to sell him and take a bath on £15m plus his wages for the season

Surely that's where Zinchenko plays once Tierney is fit? Can't imagine Zinchenko would have moved just to be on the bench for a different team.

Think he's been bought to play mid and cover the inevitable injuries to Tierney. Probably spend more time as a defender.

Oh and they might find themselves a player short in the midfield at some point.

I will strawpedo a bottle of Chateauneuf-de pap if he goes to West Ham.

You may need to rephrase before we play them.
