As for Ireland, great to see Lowry will make his debut v Italy. He's been brilliant for Ulster this season so it will be interesting to see if he gets more game time off the back of this. Competition is high though, this era isn't our best ever XI but I think its probably the era of our best ever overall squad in terms of strength in depth.

England by two scores, Ireland by a landslide, France by two scores.

Oh and final prediction: People who haven't given a flying fvck about the 6N this year to all of a sudden magically get extremely noisy in this thread some time after 5pm if things are going well for England lol

God, I love Flower of Scotland.

Actually all the anthems are amazing bar the dirge that is GSTQ

GSTQ and FOS are both dirges to be honest. FOS is extremely one-note.

The other four anthems are superb. I can quite comfortably say with zero bias at all that ours is head and shoulders above everyone else's but that's because it's amazing, not because the other three are poor.

As an aside: Ireland's Call is sadly under valued (I suspect largely for a mixture of cultural and political reasons) - its actually not a bad contemporary anthem.

I don't like the sport at all, but surely we can universally agree that the Jock anthem makes our collective ears bleed? Play it in the least tuneful instrument known to man n all, that'll help. Have a ****ing day off.

It's like they heard GSTQ and said, "I'll see your dirge, and raise you Flower Of Scotland.".

Sorry - I should add that Ireland's Call is an abomination.

The hands for that try 🥰

Probably the most entertaining start to a game in the tournament so far. Bonkers.

Madness. The French are reverting to old France here

In less than half an hour we've seen peak France and peak France immediately one after the other. lol

How is that not even a yellow?

Because its just so fvcking weird. Don't think it really meets any of the criteria for a card because it's such an unusual action.

Is it not dangerous play, even if it's unintentional? He's not looking at where he is in relation to his opponent. I've seen players carded for equally clumsy challenges!
