trueblue_j Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 should leicester extend ryan smiths loan or not
Durnerz Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Yes obviously, Smith is the best player we have.
adam Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 The question is.... Will he want to play for us for much longer? I wouldnt.
trueblue_j Posted 23 November 2005 Author Posted 23 November 2005 well i wouldnt want to play for leicester at the moment but he aint going to get played at arsenal
adam Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 but maybe another championship side may try and get him.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 but maybe another championship side may try and get him. I have herd with have the option to buy believe it or not. I doubt he will come at all cheap though.
brookfox Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 If this is "should we extend his loan", then I'm sorry but it's the stupidest poll I've ever seen! Gievn he's our best player at the minute then I'd guess it's a 100% yes. You might as well put up a "Do you want a kick in the knackers" poll. If it's will he want to stay, then I guess he would still like to. First team football (even of this quality) must be better than reserve team football.
Dr The Singh Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 I have herd with have the option to buy believe it or not. I doubt he will come at all cheap though. If city don't start pushing for promotion I doubt he will want to stay!!!
Bert Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 I've got a feeling he may want to stay, did you see the way he celebrated our goals last night?? and the way he tried to get the crowd fired up against Southampton? he might just want to play fotball regulalrly and he's got his first real break here, this could be the start of his career for real, using us a platform as he will be seen by bigger clubs who wl play him.

I hope he does stay permenantly!! He is probably content at he moment getting experience but he's no mug, he has been a part of a top flight club, he probably has good advisors\agents and he probably knows he is the best player at city and he probably knows that he should be playing at a higher level. So, why would he want to sign (permenantly) for a club that is going nowhere at the moment, I can't see him staying beyond a loan deal!!!

Dr The Singh Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Perhaps the club are about to make him the youngest manager in the land. If that makes him sign permenantly and he becomes player manager that's fine by me!! And if he wants tips on team selection\tactics all he has to do is read the posts on this forum!! A match made in heaven! Smith for manager!!!!!!!!
holly Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 was chattin to my mate at demont fort after game last night, and he said he heard on the local radio that smith wants to extend his loan with us?

Katy Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Its just that you do sarcasm so very, very badly lush
Thracian Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 What was great with Smith last night was that the team seemed to love having him around. He strikes me as a cocky cockney kid who believes absolutely in his ability and he's like a beacon of bright blue light in that Leicester shirt. What a teasing, tantalising talent - he doesn't just beat people he mesmerises them, almost talks to em first before leaving them stranded with some audacious trickery. He even tracked back occasionally and showed himself well able to bounce em off his shoulder...not that the whistle happy referee let him get away with anything, fair or otherwise. Weren't those officials a group of whistle and flag-happy catch-my-eyes. At times I didn't know is I was watching the guards on St Pancras station or listening to a piercing rendition from the Albert Hall. Anyway, back to Smithy. Best kid in a Leicester shirt for years. With Stearman, that's two kids showing the way. We'll get there yet! Anyone complaining they're too young? The Leicester Lads. Let's get a team full!.
lush Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Its just that you do sarcasm so very, very badly lush I know, its the downfall of visiting this site Thrach: "He strikes me as a cocky kid who believes absolutely in his ability and he's like a beacon of bright blue light in that Leicester shirt" I think he was brought off for being too cocky. About 15 mins before he came off, he was doing skills and it was great to see, but then he gave the ball away just past the half way line, and the crowd didnt like it. He is for sure like Thrach points out, that he is without doubt our shinning light, and the nearest we have to him is a light that needs a new bulb... "What a teasing, tantalising talent - he doesn't just beat people he mesmerises them, almost talks to em first before leaving them stranded with some audacious trickery" I love you, what poetry "almost talks to em", brilliant. "He even tracked back occasionally and showed himself well able to bounce em off his shoulder...not that the whistle happy referee let him get away with anything, fair or otherwise." For a skinny young lad, hes got an amazing capability of shrugging off a tackle, and flicking the ball in the nick of time or with time to spare, for the benefit of his team mate, quite outstanding talent. WE SHOULD PAY ARSOL WHAT THEY WANT, AND INSIST ON A LIFETIME CONTRACT. "Anyway, back to Smithy. Best kid in a Leicester shirt for years. With Stearman, that's two kids showing the way. We'll get there yet! Anyone complaining they're too young?" PLUS sheehan, weso, hume, macarthy and chambo. Has craig started a revolution? Lets show credit where credit due.
Jimmy Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 defonate yes when given the ball with the chance to run he scares the fullback shitless and creats chances
Ric Flair Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Smith was magical last night, absolutely amazing. His success rate of beating players is higher than i've ever seen from a Leicester player and he's got to be up there with some of the best flying wingers in the world at beating players so easily. He's obviously not the finished article but for a club like Leicester to have a player of his talents for atleast a few months is absolute paradise and he makes it bearable when watching Leicester at the minute. Watford were shit scared of him and in the end they were throwing 3 men at him trying to stop him and he still beat them. Forget Joe Cole, Sven. Smudger's ya man.
GoonerSmithFan Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Hi guys, Just joined up to see how young Smithy is getting along.. Looks like he has made a good impression with you lot so far... I really hope it continues, for the benefit of you lot, Smith and of course for us too! I've been watching Smith for a couple of years now for the reserves and he is very special.. Not only that he missed 9 months when he ruptured his cruciate ligament when a Forest player hacked him in half about a year and a half ago, so its excellent to see he has his confidence back and is hitting a bit of form.. I genuinly beleive Wenger has high hopes for Smith, in the past he has always picked him ahead of Quincy in the CC games, even though he is a year younger, not as powerful and just returning from the seriosu knee injury.. What I like about Smith, is that he not only has skill and pace, but he can really pick a pass too, which is quite unuasual for a youngster (from what I have seen in reserve games).. The only thing he lacks is goal scoring, never really scored that many at reserve level.. Anyway like I said I strongly believe Wenger has real faith in this kid, he doesn't have the baggage or arrogance of previous players like Pennant and Bentley.. He ofcourse is an Islington lad, an Arsenal fan and was spotted playing for his local side as a kid so we are seriously hoping he'll make it with us.. We've not had a genuine classy home grown player, since the days of Rocastle and Merson! Anyway hopefully you'll start climbing up the table.. By the way are any of your games on sky?
Jimmy Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 what are the chances of getting him for the rest of the season

Mate, i'm not being funny but he's the best player i've seen play for Leicester since Stan Collymore. Natural talent is an understatement. His passing is second to none and defenders can't get near him without assaulting him. I already think he'd do a job on the wing for Arsenal and i'm forever thankful that Wenger has let us have him for a while. If we could have him for the whole season it would be remarkable, he's certainly getting better and better.
