Historically, we used to use the counting house, local hero, bowling green or brickies.

Recently, it's 9 bar. Which is basically having a pint in a corridor.

Yeah maybe, but would have thought a load would just google Spoons Leicester.

How long since I went there?  Thought it was still Lloyds 😂

Any frequenters of the West End Brewery that has sadly closed found a new pre match pub?

My mate used to live in the flats opposite, we spent many an hour at the bar.  Cracking little place.  Been a few years now, is Mark still the landlord?

Grumpy Tigers bloke in his late 50's? If so no moved on. Seems to have brought some life to the place.

Is it packed in Nine pre-match?

Very. Which it's great they're busy, but the configuration of the place means, if you're standing, you spend all of your time shuffling out the way of people going to or from the bar or toilet.

Cheers. Think it'll be Black Horse for us from now on then.

Kings is getting a bit much these days, the secrets well and truly out if it ever was one. Not only is it rammed pre-match but now it seems to be crowded after the game as well.

Heard the other week that the Bowling Green has gone, can anyone confirm?

Has changed hands. Looking for new landlord, but was open on skeleton stock after Brighton game.

Not a great crowd in there after. As seen in trouble after Villa game last season. Is a great pub though, generally.

Which was also rammed on Sat and lots of moving etc.

Tried Ninebar and just walked straight out as absolutely rammed

We drank in the WEB before every game and it's a wasteland out there in terms of genuinely decent boozers anywhere near the ground.

Such a shame

If I stop for a pint, it is usually New Road Inn or The Donkey, but that is only evening games, when I am without the children. I look at the list, and think no one actually comes up the Welford Road for games!

Before the pandemic, I would sometimes take the kids for lunch at Two Steeples and let them have a run around at the Wacky Warehouse, and then just hop on the 49 to get to the game. But they are now a bit too old for that.

The Donkey for me too 🙂👍

Plenty must still come up Welford Rd judging by the parking from Grimsby Fisheries to the New Road Inn.
