They'll have their work cut out to convince people with the new trilogy. Typically fans never ever take well to a change in protagonist, look at Mass Effect Andromeda for example.

Looks like my game to play over Christmas is sorted!

 

Never got around to playing it when it first came out, had just started it when they announced this update so stopped, and FINALLY it is coming out

So, the only Q that remains here is how do I get my PS4 save off the PS4 and onto my PS5?  I haven't transferred any data from the 4 to the 5 as yet.

This kept me busy during my last bout of COVID in February. Definitely giving it another bash when this update is here. Up there with my favourite games.

You are in for a Treat. I would recommend learning and playing Gwent (The in game Card Game) You can lose hours to that alone

I found the Gwent games engaging but frustrating.

That's the beauty of it. Its certainly not a simple game as you progress. Its making me want to play it again

Stayed up to ensure the Next Gen download was completed and, after work, I get straight into the goods.

 

I am beyond excited.

This update is a hot mess on pc. Pretty ****ing annoyed. Was looking forward to this.

For anybody wondering, the cross save system is extremely jankie to get up and running, effectively the steps for transferring your save from PS4 to PS5 are as follows :-

You need to have the PS4 version, and the PS5 version downloaded and updated to the most recent patch

Download the PS4 version of the game
Open the game and load your most recent save
When in the game, pause and go to load
Press L2 to enable cross saves
Log into your GOG.com account on your phone and scan the QR code displayed on the screen, this links your most recent save to the cloud
Save your game
Close the PS4 version of the game and open the PS5 version
Start a new game
Once in the game go to the load menu
Press L2 and link your GOG.com account using your phone and the QR code again
Once the link is complete you should see your most recent PS4 save appear in the list with a cloud icon next to it
Load your cloud save, then save your game again

You can now play from where you left off on PS4

I presume it's also the same process for XBox

Still running around with this on my (kids) switch. See no point in getting it again while I'm still doing a play through, as much as I'd like to see Skellige with a graphics update
