All opinions isn't it. I'm sure the rest of the footballing world would look at our dead stadiums in England and say there's plenty not quite right about them too.

Agree 100%.     We used to have great atmospheres ... just not any more.     For all the various reasons we've discussed 100's of times, our atmospheres have really gone downhill since the 1990's.      I just wish it could go back to how it used to be ... but that's unlikely to happen.

It’s also believing in what your club is trying to do. we’ve never been great but when there’s a lack of plan or any kind of communication it only hurts it more. I thought wolves fans were pretty decent compared to a lot of grounds this season.

They're having a good time regardless of what is going on on the pitch. Imagine paying all that money to sit there looking glum because the game is boring/your team is losing

The sooner people stop expecting entertainment at football, the happier they are.

What circumstances on the pitch make it ok to support your team?

Effort, commitment, players running, taking people on, shooting, winning the ball, fast breaks, pressing. I think if the players are clearly giving it all on the pitch the fans will back that.

Things modern football is lacking quite a bit.

The absolute best teams I have seen this season are PSG, Inter and Barcelona none of them are particularly slow passing accross the back snoreball.

Atmospheres are only good when the fan in the stand believes the noise they are making has an effect on what's happening on the pitch.  It's why those that control a game with 80% possession never have great atmosphere either

The players have to show something too. Like if they pressed hard, ran hard etc fans would get behind that, but its very hard to get behind a team passing it between centre backs, we pretty simple we just want to see some entertainment. In the last 3/4 years there has been very little in the Leicester side the fans can really get behind. Again that falls down to poor decisions at board level mixed with the utter contempt with which KPFC treat the fans.

Completely, currently it feels like we could create an incredible atmosphere and we would still get Bouba Soumare enjoying a leisurely stroll around the centre circle

PSG have always been good, but I swear they've gone to another level recently. They seem mostly 18–30s, and loads of them wear official club gear. That’s quite different from German or Italian ultras, where you seem to get a much more even mix of young and old.

Each country’s fan culture has its pros and cons. Germany gets all the plaudits, and the constant wall of noise is genuinely impressive - but have you ever heard a catchy German chant? I don’t think I have. And for all the volume, they don’t often get those proper stadium lift-offs. I still maintain that Germany is miles better than England though.

Spanish fans, on the other hand, are generally pretty poor - but they have catchy songs and can generate proper stadium lift offs. Italy, I think , has the best of both Germany and Spain. France is similar too.

In England, we can still get big stadium lift-offs, but they’re becoming rarer and if the game is poor the ground is dead. Take Leeds - often held up as one of the best atmospheres in the country. If they played Frankfurt at Elland Road and went 1–0 down after five minutes, it’d basically feel like a Frankfurt home game. English atmospheres are way too dependent on how the game’s going.

Does anyone actually think anything will every change in England or at Leicester?.

Put me in the 'No' group.

Alright, stop moaning in this thread then.

Yeah PSG have taken off to another level - you have to remember their ultra groups had a long term ban and there was a huge split between the two biggest groups (hence they are still to this day at both ends of the grounds).

Personally I love the culture but I have begun to dislike the groups which hook up their ends with a soundsystem the size of Amnesia nightclub. The echo off the speakers often creates that drone. I'll always like Italy because I find their sub-culture scene to be beautifully creative.

The scene for me is strongest in the lesser leagues at the moment; Sweden, Switzerland and Austria in particular.

Bristol City seem to have a good thing developing at the moment.

In the premier league? Highly unlikely.

There is hope for the lower divs, grounds not being fully sold out all the time is a big help.

Part of me hopes they won't go up, I always expect the club to clampdown on any group if they did.

It's amazing that Pep, and more recently Enzo can't fathom this. Both have resorted to turning on their own fans.

Amazing that Faes passing to Vestegaard to pass to Faes to pass to Vestegaard didn't create a cauldron like atmosphere isn't it?

Maybe because they come from clubs where fans support the team no matter what, and what happens on the pitch doesnt necessarily affect the atmopshere, they find it odd when they have quiet stadiums.

Really? In Spain I hear a lot of fans booing their own players and many quiet, Tourist type atmospheres.

There's no surprise that our quick tempo football under Pearson and Ranieri generated our best atmospheres.

Think they'd argue that they are paid to win football matches rather than create an atmosphere.
