We did what we had to do. Fair play to the gills, they had a game plan, stuck to it and made it difficult. Summed it up with their managers pre match comments that neither the pitch nor weather were as bad as he would have liked.

Just watched the game back in full..

looked like a PL game against lower positioned opposition where they drop deep and ask the question are you good enough to break us down ?

despite the 1-0 win,the answer was pretty much no..

Mcateer looked raw but direct when given the chance..

Brunt just didnt seem suited to the role..

barely looked to link with MA or get beyond him..

Endless crosses from deep just not effective either

I do wonder so often how some can come to totally opposite conclusions, specifically with regards to Brunt/Mcateer.

Firstly, you can't compare their performances, because I didn't even realise Mcateer was playing. The bloke never got involved, or was never got involved, either way it amounts to the same thing. I couldn't tell he was playing. Brunt on the other hand was constantly on the ball, and although trying too much at times, did actually have the balls to take the ball out of the back three, into midfield, and try to make something happen. He was the one doing it more than anyone, more than Vestergaard, Soyuncu, Albrighton or Mendy, so for that he gets credit from me. He actually also slid in a nice pass or two, one to Tielemans in particular which unfortunately Youri doesn't have the legs to reach.

Albrighton on the other hand was embarrassing, and again, shows Rodgers hasn't got a clue when it comes to picking a captain. He's technically not good enough, he's physically not good enough and his 'Running around' is a result of him being constantly out of position. He should have been the one doing what Brunt was doing, taking responsibility, but he rarely showed for the ball and quite how he his still here is beyond me. He's not a leader, he's not good enough and is a complete waste of finances.

Iheanacho was Iheanacho, and showed why he simply has to be a starter when Maddison isn't available. He's the only player, besides Maddison, who can both score a goal out of nothing, and create a goal out of nothing. He's a complete confidence player, but he has the technical ability to play as a 10, and we have to find a way to get him starting and take more risks with our line ups. Vardy on the other hand, sadly, is showing the decline we expected. It's not just the lack of pace now, it's his finishing. It's sad to see, but we've known about it for 3-4 years now, yet Rodgers hasn't been trying to find solutions really. He actually has one with Iheanacho, who is actually superior in Vardy to many areas, but he just doesn't like him.

Yes, don’t be mean though

he used to be fatter often spotted frequenting bars around City of London at 11am

I’m not being mean, it’s just rare for people to actually show themselves online in forums, or at-least I’ve found anyway.

Funny how people see things differently. Remember vividly in the second half where Brunt sold himself with a cross field ball trying to head it. Gills player in behind except Albrighton was there too clear it all up.

I thought Albrighton did exactly the role you accuse not have yesterday - of course the goal indirectly came from his cross causing havoc
