I'm sure some of you will be familar with this. Well, it would appear that on FT, we have our own equivalent, and it could be the basis of an excellent drinking game - how soon before a thread becomes infected with mention of BR, relevantly or (in my opinion) irrelevantly in the majority of cases?

It is the end of any thread being of any worth, because the same utter bores keep appearing and misappropriating the thread to make the same point AGAIN in so many words. I mean the above with some humour, but I really do request some balance in the moderating on such things - for those that don't care to invoke 'BR's Law' automatically, it makes the football debate really biased and unpleasant, and makes the forum a poorer place - one could very easily make the case that the same nonsense is both repetitious and diversionary.

In my opinion, naturally.

I was thinking much the same today.  Sadly, as I'm clearly not as intellectual as you, it was the drinking game that came to mind not Godwin's law.

I thought if I had a drink everytime someone makes a 'joke' about BR coaching attacking players to only pass sideways I'd have the basis of an excellent drinking game.  But then I realised what I'd actually have is alcohol poisoning within minutes.

’Twas ever thus. I remember the FT thread for the first match of the 2013-14 season, when we played Middlesbrough away. As soon as the teams were announced, one of the usual suspects posted “Vardy and Dwinkwater (sic)! I know it’s only the first game, but definately (sic) Pearson out.”

Danny D and Jamie V both scored, of course, and Pearson led us to a massive Championship win, and promotion to the Premier League. As I recall, the same pillock made the call for Pearson to go all the way through to the end of February. Some people need counselling.

You wouldn't have thought the Leicester City First Team Manager would come up so much in the Leicester City section of a Leicester City forum.

Obtuse much? Come on, you're wilfully missing the point because (in my opinion) it might have some truth in it.

Frankly, the only positive is that it's at the very least a diversion from the deranged obsession with Nigel Pearson that saturates this forum.

... You are aware this is a Leicester City forum, right? People are going to talk about Leicester City?

I find it hard not to frame most discussions about the team at the moment in the context of the leadership, or lack of it.

We're going through considerable crisis on the pitch and the manager is a massive part of that. Of course he's going to be discussed. That's not comparable to Godwin in the slightest it's just obvious.

But then weren't you obsessively defending Claude Puel right up to the last as well? Foxestalk has a lot of hysterical clowns. If you aren't used to them now you'll never be. But if you aren't alarmed by our current management situation and don't see value in it being discussed then you really aren't in the majority and in this case, that's not the brag you might think it is.

No @Finnegan, I did not. I did try to counter the obsessive spamming about him, and was keen not to sack until we had a replacement in mind.

I can be alarmed without my point remaining valid, and I'm not afraid of being in the minority, nor should anyone be.

Like Ealing before you, you've chosen to ignore the nuance in what I am saying, and that's your problem.

No. No it is not Finners’ problem. The problem is Brendan Rodgers.

Tbh Godwin's law is about comparisons anyway. So I assume the real problem is people keep comparing HPF to BR and he's offended by it.

That is really impressive that you remember the identity's of posters all the way back to the Puel years. I forget who I reply to within a day, do not look at the identity of posters at all, and do not recognise any posters other than the ones I've met in real life. I used to look out for Cardiff Fox posts, until they changed their name to Carrington Fox or some such, which flummoxed me for a good few months before I figured it out.

Well that didn't take long did it? Er, yeah, at no point did I suggest that they shouldn't. What does that have to do with an obsessive fixation that is borderline weird? I think if Nige himself read some of this crap he'd be thinking the same.

Are you saying it's wrong for me to have Nige's face on my pillows, duvet cover and Y-fronts?

Because if you are then it is you who is weird.

That's also fine Dagg, so long as you aren't ejaculating over them on a regular basis - as some have alluded to doing.

It's a condition. Don't judge me.

I get what you're saying @HighPeakFoxbut I think any public forum will suffer the same repetitive posts and posters.

It's frustrating but we still read the topics we're interested in. It's a matter of trawling through the repetitive crap to get to the sensible/contentious/balanced posts.

IMO FT has a higher proportion of knowledgeable, clever and insightful members that post in "general chat" and outside of the LCFC or matchday topics than any other football forum.

Quite so. If only they got banned for spamming like I occasionally have been.
