OH Leuven Thread 23/24

Recommended Posts

...Just watching St Truidense who looks very good team, they play it around the back and break the press over and over again!!!

Gent was disappointing in comparison, as I would have expected this quality from Gent as opposed to what they served up this afternoon. You could see we relished getting the point, but if OHL is looking to go to the next level, perhaps getting the St. Truidense manager in might just be a good option. They play the same way we look to play under Maresca, exciting stuff most times and they seem comfortable in what they are doing.

Hoping to see Shinzi come on later.

Opoku still injured?

Yep, not quite sure how long for though or what his injury actually is!

24th August - "Nathan Opoku will also be out of action for three weeks due to an injury to his groin"

31st August - "Nathan Opoku is again absent due to an injury to his heel"

15th September - "Brys cannot count on Nathan Opoku"

How’d you play?

An early goal, then a missed penalty and after that the usual "scared of pushing through" scenario. 2nd half was better and we showed that we can have an attack to wreak havoc. Thorsteinsson's second goal for the 1-3 was strangely overruled for an obstruction of the goalkeeper's sight by Dom who was not even close to the goalkeeper. I think they pass around vodka in the VAR van. Brys is scared of subbing players. There is a severe lack of trust in the players on the bench. I understand you want to keep the momentum going, but at some point some players will be too tired to perform properly. Glad with the 3 points, not so much yet with the overall performance, but the players showed they can put together a good attack too. All in all it is promising, and we have 7/9 points now too. I hope we can do it all over against Standard next saturday.

Didn’t Standard recently sign Sowah? You should have got him

Our CEO resigned in that period, so a lot of transfer targets went down the drain from then on I think. We have N'dri there already too... if he ever gets to play more than he does now anyway.

...it was ruled out due to obstruction in the box, the OHL player preventing the defender from coming across to close down the shot!!!

...he has done the rounds this lad!!!

Seemed to get the impression that he felt he was bigger than OHL, came back to us and was sold to Club Brugge for a good amount. He went out on loan to AZ and is now at Standard (on loan from Club Brugge).

I have watched him playing for Club Brugge (last season), wide on the left and it always seemed that the other players did not trust to pass to him and any balls he received were an afterthought. He is a talented player who will go from club to club and not fulfil his potential, perhaps a lack of self-discipline is the cause.

Mathieu Maertens is recovering well from his hamstring injury, but is still out for a while. Suphanat Mueanta has also suffered a hamstring injury with the U23s and will be out of action for several weeks. Alexandro Calut and Federico Ricca are injured for a long time. Nathan Opoku trained again this week, but still lacks rhythm.

Yesterday's game proved that we need a new coach. This opponent was weak, and we were weaker because of the way we play. Why play counter attack with 3 at the back against such an opponent. We could have easily played to our strengths against them with a 4231. No one knows why N'dri doesn't get a chance. He didn't even come off the bunch the last two games. Also subbing players in the 85th minute is so idiotic. While Brys keeps blaming the board, he lost his touch with the team and now the fans too. They play without confidence, without leadership. We need a new coach asap if we want to stay up this year.

Another loss after yet another disgusting performace!

Dear Top and King Power: Start acting like a real owner and sack the manager or sell our club and **** off!!!!

Exactly, the amateurism in and around the club has been going on for far too long now! Don't make promises you can't keep, and let OHL manage their own finances.
