Pains me to say it but we’re in a relegation fight and need our best 11 on the pitch every match. Like it or not that team includes Winks. He just has an higher football IQ and technique than some of our other options and other players look better as a result. Attitude this, fell out with managers that… I want us to win football matches more than  take the moral high ground right now.

Best player on the pitch today by a mile, if we've any hope of staying up, we will need him, JJ and Skipp to be playing every minute

Better that any of Charlton’s players by a mile? Hmm, not sure about that

I thought he did okay.

You can see why no one’s come in for him though and he rarely gives the decisive pass or even the one before.

He’s also probably known as a complete diva within the game

Based on technical ability he's probably the best we have in midfield at the momet but I'd rather get relegated playing someone who actually cares about the club rather than someone who's only out for himself.

You wouldn't play 75% of the squad then, none of them really care about City

Ronaldo is a prima donna, you dont see managers sidelining him, due to not wanting to dleep a night at the training ground,  winks is one of our best players if not the best, give him what he wants.

Until were safe, promoted, or whatever he will play his best ....then decide to keep or sell....because hes going to be worth way more if you indulge him...

Its a bit late now though

Exactly this.

Some saying he was MOM and all that bollox...who cares, the cvnt has rinsed this club, hes a mardy cvnt. FVCK HIM

Lazy to not see past Winks prima dona mentality. We're paying him to do a job that he can do really well, use him as much as possible, otherwise is money for nothing.

If Skipp and James were fit, he’d still be out the squad. I’m not sure King really had another option here. And I’m very anti-Winks as I don’t like what his way of playing stands for or his attitude.

Don’t care how good he was / is / thinks he is

he dosent want to be here

hopefully someone might be silly enough to give him 90 bags per week

kind of hoping he’d run in to Cody at some point

he can go back to the under 21s now

Yes bad attitude. Certainly not the way to conduct yourself as a professional. However, we need our best players. He was probably right about Cooper, RVN and MC.

If he's right about the next manager too, should we abide him putting in half-arsed performances and causing unrest behind the scenes? If all of the last three managers have been the problem, and not the application of the players they inherited, then is manager number four likely to be any different?

At some point we not only have to acknowledge that the manager isn't the biggest problem, but also grasp what that means. Good players will have to be excluded because they don't apply themselves, and occasionally they will come on and look better than the people who have supplanted them. But it doesn't stop said individuals being a fundamental part of the core problem, which is a cultural issue at the club, rather than one of technical ability.

Winks, like several others, has already shown himself to be a part of that problem. A relatively respectable display in a dreadful team performance shouldn't be enough for people to start saying 'the problem was manager a, b and c all along, and not Harry Winks.'

You say that as if Coady is some sort of rock rather than a walking footballer who showed minimal defensive steel when he was with us.

For the remainder of this season, and where we are at with players available to us, he should be starting every game he is available.

I can see your reasoning, but...

You indulge the mardy pr1ck just the once and he'll shift the goal posts (no pun) and keep on doing it.

Plus you can't set a precedence or you'll have the whole team taking the P1ss.

No one is bigger than club as the saying goes and giving him "privileged treatment " contravenes that.

He's paid a kings ransom anyway  he needs to start earning the "mother effer" and not pandering too.

You'd think relegation from the Championship would look pretty rubbish on his CV. Perhaps he will play a bit between now and the end of the season. After all he wants away and if he can't get a move right now he needs to secure a team for next season. I'm not sure how many clubs would be that interested in him.

Some of the comments in here are why this club is on its knees.

Some even saying give this cvnt what he want as long as he plays...how fecking dumb...🙄

Everyone can have their opinions on what is right or wrong in regards Winks' situation, but for me we looked better today once he was introduced. Apart from James, he is our best midfielder IMO.

I have to agree, although I can't condone his actions off the pitch - today he still looks composed and realistically is are best holding Midfielder - with him playing we can release James to play as a 2nd 8 when he is fit - how many goals and assists would James get if we played him higher

Booed him on to the pitch. Will continue to boo him whenever he is selected.

Even though we were better once he was introduced. With him playing we have a chance of survival. I take it you want us in this league.
