I really don’t know as we’ve signed a few players I knew nothing about a few weeks ago:

Casadei

Issahaku

Akgun

Cannon

No clue whether they’ll be good enough.

Does anybody know what our best team is now from the players available?

I think Mads and Winks are excellent signings and Yunus will be our best winger. We've got 4 loans, 2 of which can go permanent if they're successful, which is good, then there's Doyle who apparently we can make permanent but we wanted to get it done asap, so there's room to keep him if he's good for the year, and then there's Casadei who we might even be able to get a second year out of if we achieve promotion given how Chelsea operate. So the worry that loan players get you up and then disappear leaving you a rebuild to stand still isn't as much of a possibility with the way we've done our business.  We've also kept Kel and Wilf, and although I wouldn't have been devastated to see either go, it's saved a headache in replacing them. And given the interest (or lack of) we might be able to retain their services next season should we want to. Be interesting seeing where Cannon fits in the order.

Ooof when it is set out like that, It is pretty damn satisfying!

Some BIG names gone, but I like our business. Some sensible, some punts!

On the face of it  £50 million pounds in profit, without loan fees if there are any.

Wage bill significantly reduced, again depending on % paid by loan clubs.

A squad that has the potential to have the best player in the championship in every position - if they fire.

We’ve put together a squad that should be top 6 with ease, and top 2 if everything clicks.

We’ve kept hold of Ndidi, Iheanacho, Ricardo and Faes - who are clearly a cut above win at this level and brought in the experience of Coady and Winks and then surrounded them by decent young players with bags of potential.

On the down side - failing to remove a couple of the goalkeepers, I don’t think that’s good for anyone having 5 goalkeepers around the joint.

Failure to move on Daka and Souttar who don’t look like they want to be/ are required to be around for the season.

Can these two be reintroduced to the squad?

Overall I’d give it an 8/10, but only time will tell with so many young players new to the division.

I think the results of the poll, which are good incomings, bad outgoings, Rudkin needing to go but the squad being good enough to get promoted is pretty much the spot on stance and I voted for all four of those options.

I think we have made improvements in numerous positions even despite relegation. Our striker options now are somehow even better than in the PL although Maresca seems to be reluctant to use Daka at all, who needs to just go in January for me. We've upgraded in goal as well.

There is quite a bit of kicking a can down the road as well though. I think not selling Ndidi is going to age really badly as he's now probably going to go for nothing. Iheanacho I erred on the side of not wanting sold despite his contract situation - we were in a lose/lose so neither decision really worked out here. Your hope on him is that we look pretty nailed on to go up during the season and you can get him a new contract. I'm a fan of his but the rest of the game doesn't seem to be really having him, he was very attainable this summer and the best interest he got was Crystal Palace.

We also need to really hope this inverted full back system works for us and that Ricardo doesn't get another injury, which is quite a gamble. I'm really not seeing Choudhury as an inverted left wing back as a long term solution either.

It's all a bit mash-mash. I'll give it 6.5 - 7 out of 10. It's better than I expected but can see plenty of room for improvement. I think we needed a real nuclear overhaul while we've done a bit of one, which means we're going to need probably even more in a years time.

It should be enough for us to go up though if Maresca is all we hope he is.

Actually happy with this and glad we kept nacho, ndidi, daka and souttar. Even if some don't play, it's all about competition and in the 46 game season, we may need all these players at some point

Technically not all players out of contract are released.
Their Contracts have  expired, and some have chose not to renew

if they are under contract and mutual termination is agreed then released or the club chose not to offer a new deal.

It gives the club too much credit, it some of the cases the decision was taken out of the clubs hands.

£55m in profit on sales and about £30m per year net benefit to the wage bill....not bad.

We now have 3 wingers for each side and at least 2 for every position except full back which he's not bothered about.

Pretty miraculous really.

4 strikers for a change is a luxury...
