I'd be happy to attend a testimonial at the end of each season if the money goes into the pension pots of each of our supporters that is retiring that year.

Nice try, grandad

Do other clubs bother anymore either? Just seems to be something largely vanishing from the game.

Would definitely be nice to have like a 15/16 reunion charity match in a couple go years to mark the 10 year and to have a bit of a send off given its likely going to be the last of Vards then if we he gets a two year extension.

TWO YEARS???  Behave!

You could quite easily arrange something for all the former title winners and it'd sell out. There's plenty of charity games.

Like others have said though, our club is only bothered about King Power and we have only not been as bothered about that because of success.

The point of a testimonial is that it isn't run by the club.  The club can give permission for it to be held and can provide basic facilities (eg. a football stadium!) but the running of the testimonial has to be done by a friend or friends of the player.  That way it can be treated as donations, not salary, and is tax free.

Assuming those conditions are met, of course, the player can take the testimonial cash tax free and then give an identical amount to charity and claim gift aid.  Thus making the value to the charity so much more than the actual donations (and also saving him tax).

Is this something foxestalk can organise. Dont know if this can be suggested to both king and albrighton. Dont have to be at KP can be played at any local ground if its available, Coalville, barwell, hinckley lr, Loughborough dynamo maybe even burton albion.

Can't make it about the owner so they're not bothered

Yes they can

I thought testimonials were effectively like a retirement payment to the outgoing player? Hence why they never seem to happen anymore.

I was of this opinion too.  There arent too many players who have played in the premier league for a period of time that will be in need of a few quid these days

It's as much about saying good bye. So a joint one with Kingy to.

All proceeds to the Vichai foundation.

Fans get to say good bye KP get to make it about them.

And Conrad

Would be on the bench for his own testimonial :P

I'd suggest the Title Winners Vs a Kingy XI. Yes, I know Kingy was part of the title winners so he can play a half for each. Kingy XI to include others he played with with us or even Wales such as:-

Cambiasso, Nugent, Fryatt, Hume, Dyer, Waghorn, Wood (looking a bit top heavy this line up), Knockaert, Iborra, St Ledger, Wellens, Uki Abe, Gallagher, Taylor-Fletcher if he's still lean and fit, er Arthur Rowley.....Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, a competent Welsh international Goalkeeper if he can think of anyone...., Conrad Logan sub, Pearson manager so long as he has at least one comedy wrestle with someone on the touchline. Maguire can come but only in the role of Filbert Fox.

The Champions squad is broader than you might remember, as well as the regular 11 there's Schlupp, the living legend that is Gokan Inler, Matty James sick-noted the entire season bless him, Amartey featured without everything collapsing around him like a deck of cards, Wasilewski (I'm not telling him he's sub, someone else can do that) , Ulloa made significant contributions, Demari Gray, Kramaric, so a few options if the likes of Kante and Mahrez don't come along. And Andy f*****g King! This time next year if Vardy is leaving then or in 2 years to be the anniversary of the win but bear in mind the sooner the better for some of these players in terms of their ageing limbs. Let's start an organising committee, give them a golf day too, have some pride in our legends :appl: all monies to "Charidy" as Smashie & Nicey would say.
