I won't be at all surprised next season if both Birmingham and Wrexham will be both be in the top six next season in the championship, both got the squads and finances to put together another promotion push.

That could certainly happen. Birmingham walked League One and they’re a fairly big club.

As for Wrexham, people dismissing them as Hollywood tycoons buying promotions are selling them way short. Sure they spend more than they did before R&R came in, when they were basically on the brink of insolvency every year. But there are still spending caps at every level, and those guys - while rich - aren’t, like, Musk rich. More than the money it’s the allure of being part of a great story and being a TV star that draws players to drop down and join them. Foster did it to publicize his social media empire, though his personal history made it an even better story.

So no, Rob and Ryan are not going to be able to buy their way into the Prem next season. And I think there are just too many huge clubs in the way for them to seriously push for promotion immediately. But they will spend enough, and their football people are smart enough, that I don’t think they’ll be fighting relegation either. I think they’ll be mid-table.

Going to be a very interesting final day in our league.

We need a win against Doncaster and loses by both Bradford and Walsall to grab the last automatic, which isn't likely lol

Grimsby, Chesterfield and Colchester all sitting just outside the playoffs, still in the running.

Reading have been bought out. No idea what Redwood Holdings are like but gotta be better than the guy who used to own them?

Will be a party atmosphere in Reading regardless of the result today. But I fancy them to get promotion via the playoffs, if they win today.

Glad that's over with.

Congrats to Doncaster.

Walsall managed to hang on to that last automatic.

We'll play Wimbledon.

Edit: Bradford score very late and overtake Walsall for that last promotion spot.

This Bradford games has turned into a farce

Issue is if you don't play that minute, Walsall will make all sorts of noise so it has to finish. If your Fleetwood though are you really bothered about trying to get a goal in this situation, surely you just want to get out of there.

I like Chesterfield's chances against Walsall.

Of course, I'd love to play them again at Wembley, after our amazing match there from two seasons ago.

We have to be a whole lot better though, for that to happen.

Our playoff matches against Wimbeldon:

Home leg: Saturday 10 May (kick-off 8pm)

Away leg: Friday 16 May (kick-off 8pm)

First leg moved to the Saturday, due to you guys playing at Forest on the Sunday.

The EFL have confirmed that Wimbledon's home tie with Notts County will be played on Saturday 17 May at 12:30pm.

Honestly, at this stage, I think Dorking have a point. It's been twenty years since the move, AFC Wimbledon have an excellent new stadium (on Plough Lane no less,) are an established EFL side who regularly compete with, sometimes finishing above, Milton Keynes and Milton Keynes themselves now have fans who have grown up supporting the club. Winkleman no longer owns the club.

The only reminder of how they came into being is their insistence on keeping the 'Dons' part of the name. It's always felt provocative, artificial and meaningless. I honestly think that after such a passage of time that taking the opportunity to rename themselves Milton Keynes Football Club would eventually lead to their more widespread acceptance, make them feel a more natural part of their city rather than a franchise that moved there and better enable them to build a unique identity.

I agree, but i always think it's a bit lame when other clubs use their official social media sites to criticise other clubs....even if they are right.

I don't think that is just on the assistant, surely the ref has to be best positioned to say it has been flicked on, I can only imagine that he's told the assistant that there is no touch.

That's an absolute shocker in any game, let alone a playoff game
