I agree.  I really wouldnt care less if the 6 left the premier league and entered a super league.

As foxin_mad says, we go to watch Leicester not to watch the opposition or see stars.  When we play big teams I'm pleased when their big stars or influential players don't play, rather than disappointed, as I don't go to see them and it benefits city.

Yes there would be less money for everyone but so what.....I'd support city if they pulled an unknown out of the pub to play for us.  In fact, Preston away aside, my most enjoyable times at football and the best times at games were in years gone by where money wasn't such a big thing and the top flight wasnt the monster it is now.

A league us, west ham, Brighton, villa etc had a chance of winning.....yeah I'd watch that, evenly matched with a genuine chance at success.

Super league....no relegation or promotion.....boring.  No underdogs springing a surprise .... boring......charged extortionate amounts to watch in person and on TV......no thanks.....but hey lads fill your  boots.  We don't need you.

Yes. I hate the idea we are all dazzled by the big stars of the greedy 6 etc. Of course there are casual viewers and hangers on bamboozled by the artificial glamour attached to simply the famous names but this does not guarantee a match worth watching. Proper in depth competition on a more equal basis is the backbone of our pyramid. I think our national broadcaster the BBC should be more evangelical in advancing the scope of the interest in the game in this country beyond the Premier League and certainly the obsession with the usual mob.

Agreed, especially to BBC comment.  Everyone pays their licence fee.....supporters of all clubs.  Interestingly I watched a very old match of the day recently and they showed highlights of a game from the old div 4! That's how it should be.  There are more match attending fans supporting clubs other than the big six.

Spot on. When my grandson got interested in football the family let him choose his team. I'm Leicester, Dad is Spurs and his other grandad is Watford. The boy chose his local side Stevenage. No big six for him.

Fair play to the lad.  He will be able to get to see them too.  His man city and Chelsea supporting pals will have more chance of flying to the moon than of getting to see those teams in the flesh regularly

The BBC have no real influence as they only get to show FA Cup games Domestically, they do try to include lower league teams early on but once the big boys join they are prone to select them. They're the same with pandering to established stars using them to front all sorts of programmes instead of new young blood. I believe when someone works for the BBC and becomes famous the BBC should move them on and not pay out big salaries just because they are famous, time for Lineker to move on.

Good points. I suppose I hanker for the days when Match Of The Day featured some matches from outside the top division for league games

I'm guessing they only have the rights to show PL highlights

Yes would have thought so. Shame the other channels highlights show is not very good. Just wish BBC were somehow galvanised to shake things up.

The best way for our club to deal with morons like this is to say that he will not be welcome to attend any matches played at our ground between us and United.

Typical disgraceful attitude, the sort that has basically killed the game and will continue to do so.

He really doesn't get it does he, the reason the Prem is so popular is not because of the "big 6" but because it's so much more competitive than any other league. On any given day the bottom club can beat the team at the top

Youre describing pretty much every league in existence.

Their opportunity comes in the FA Cup and wherever possible they show the all Prem ties.

So let me try and understand where he is coming from.

His club gets favourable coverage over the majority of the other 14 most seasons.

Under FFP/PSR his club is allowed to spend much more than the other 14.

The improved coverage gives his club a higher share of the TV money and better sponsorship deals.

I am lost, just dont see where he is coming from, unless he thinks the value of the EPL is not supported by the other 14.

I assume we got mentioned because of the recent promotion, or maybe because (like forest) we are in the forgotten lands called the midlands, but we actually won the EPL more recently than his club.

I wish the big had ****** off when they were planning to, I still think the national game is better without them.

“We’ve got the best league in the world. Don’t ruin that league, for heaven’s sake.”

Just give us more say so we can do exactly what we want and ruin it on everyone else's behalf.

Exactly this. I watch football because I want to see my team compete and win games. I don't watch football because if the big 6. If the big six didn't exit I wouldn't be bothered.

Here is the problem, they don't care about you. They don't care about fans that go to matches. They don't care about fans in the city the club is based. All they care about is money, and the majority of that comes from viewership abroad, who just randomly pick a "Big 6" team to support and glory ride it, they don't care about promotion and relegation or the championship. It's entirely meaningless to all those fans as it's meaningless to those teams now that they all have so much money.

Most of the owners would move their team to another place if it meant making a few more quid. Look how the yanks move teams around in the NFL.

At this point it would be beneficial if the big 6 just fuched off and formed their Stars and Stripes bonanza league. Leave the rest of us to get on with real football. They are all scum anyway, flouting the rules with apparent impunity.

When Man City win their legal challenge against the Premier League, which they likely will, the ground will shift irrevocably and the demise of our top league will be assured. They just want a closed shop. Even now the door is only just ajar. We rattled their cages so thoroughly that they never want to see a repeat of it.

They have no intention of fuching off as the PL is as if not more important, at least in the short term than any Super League.  What they want is to leave the Euro Leagues and have a PL + their own closed shop mega lucrative Super League where they get all the money and control enabling them to play where and when they want.

They can do that if they wish. The issue for them is without fans, proper fans who love the clubs football isn't that interesting, especially if its a closed shop.

Part of the reason reason the Premier League was so successful is the whole package, you begin to dismantle that, you destroy your whole USP. Football will exist without this muppets, quite frankly I couldn't care less about them either, id just like them to stop avoiding paying tax and have some form of moral compass.
