How's Cover been getting on lately? Started the season well but it's been a bit quieter around him, potential option to recall and replace JJ if we're going to give youth a chance?

Been putting in some alright performances recently but Port Vale’s form has properly dropped off

Not sure he is good enough / ready enough to come in for JJ unfortunately

Probably needs to finish this season with Port Vale and then get a loan in League One next season

I'm really unsure where this suggestion Cover will jump from League 2 to Prem starter has come from.

Lads clearly doing well, but well enough to jump 3 leagues, I don't think so

I found myself at Stoke today with some family, Cannon is never going to be a premier league striker, he has a very poor touch. He’ll do ok in the Championship.

I think we should sell while/if his stock is high. If we can get the £7mil we spent on him back that would be excellent.

Well we might be needing him next season!

Given that they've now gotten rid of their manager and Shawcross is currently in charge, he might get exposed to a more complimentary setup for his abilities, so recalling him now would likely be a mistake.  Especially if we need to sell players, with Souttar no longer one we can claw anything back on.

unless its to sell him why would we recall him? if anything we want to be shedding a striker on loan (or selling Daka) not bringing back Cannon when he wouldn't play

You just have to read through some of the threads to see people saying we should bring him back.  Generally coincides with Daka doing something wrong or Vardy having an off one.  Don't forget we want rid of Edouard.

Only reason I would be looking to recall Cannon is if we are able to get him a loan at a better team in the Championship - I don't think he is ready yet to be a decent enough option for us in the Prem (or whether he ever will be) - that issue needs to be resolved by binning off Edouard and getting someone new

I probably wouldn't be looking to recall and sell him in January either

Leave him in the Championship for the rest of the season (whether with Stoke or someone else) and then in the summer make a decision

Keep to be our striker if we get relegated, look to sell if we stay up

Popov seems to be nowhere near the squad anymore.

Both popov and Richards loans seem to have been unsuccessful, get them back this month and see if can get a loan where both will actually play.

And Braybrooke. Get him back too.

Annoying that of the 3 that were going well (Nelson, Souttar and Cannon), 2 of them got bad injuries!

He’s played a grand total of 20 minutes in two sub appearances (16 minutes and 4 minutes) since the end of October. He has been fit and been on the bench every week.

So the chances he plays at all tonight are massively unlikely.

It was an awful level of football anyway and an odd loan. The only redeeming factor to it would have been regular minutes week in week out and that has not happened so it’s pointless him staying there. He needs minutes so just find him a club that’ll give that even if it is further down the ladder than we’d like.
