How can you compare those who had no choice and were conscripted to fight in wars? 
And a billionaire who died in a helicopter crash?

There’s a huge difference. 
Whether you like it or not, the helicopter crash will become less poignant for many. It will be remembered differently as time evolves.

I don't think its been rammed down our throats. I've only seen an insta post and a youtube video, all that i could ignore if i chose to. Seems to be a small amount of relevant people in attendance. I don't really see why the owners shouldn't hold it this way to be fair.

Other thought to my mind is does an annual remembrance service start to lose its impact rather doing it rather more intermittently? 

 

We aren't far away from the first team playing side not having a personal exchanges with the fella.

I’m sure everyone who knew him, personally or professionally, has the ability to remember him and pay their respects however they wish to. The whole ‘Forever In Our Hearts’ orchestrated stuff I find a little bit exaggerated now.

As more and more people move on from the club who actually knew him, I'm sure it will become less and less. But there are a large number of people who knew him and worked with him for a long time, and of course his family. 

 

It's not like it he passed away in Thailand of natural causes. It was in an horrendous accident literally at the stadium, it's going to be forever intrinsincly linked to the club even more so because of the circumstances.

I think King Power and the defence they get is very culty but an accident occurred at our ground 6 years ago which claimed 5 lives so I don't think a memorial service for that is strange. If it was in Thailand then I would concede.

 

Man Utd held their 66th anniversary for the Munich disaster earlier this year.

Has anyone else noticed that Kingy is in club tracksuit, I may have missed it but is he now involved in some sort of coaching capacity?

Apart from the bit about major conficts I think you are spot on, if the club wants to continue it then so what. 

 

This is just another stick to beat the ownership with, and whilst lots of things are worthy of criticism i.e crispy coconut rolls, remembering our dead chairman for a few hours every year isn't.

Wouldn't surprise me if he is back in a coaching capacity, always thought he'd end up back here.

Me too, would be a great addition for him to be around the younger players he'd be able to give them advice on how and what it takes to break through. Also understand you do have to have the right manager who's willing to give them a chance to break through. Wonder if he's involved with the under 23's or the youth team?

The build up to that goal was excellent. Best football I've ever seen us play was under Rodgers.
