President-elect Donald Trump has demanded Panama reduce fees on the Panama Canal or return it to US control, accusing the central American country of charging "exorbitant prices" to American shipping and naval vessels.

Well, Reagan had his little imperialist adventure in Panama too, right?

Is this how Russia wanted the Crimea back?

Yeah, but they're "bad guys" and the US, even when headed up by Trump, are "good guys", so it's all OK... right?

I'm trying to decide whether enshittification of the democratic process by bigoted social media dudebros and the consequences of it or Danny Ward currently merit more personal stress right now.

Before the match between Rot-Weiss Essen and VfB Stuttgart, they held a minute's silence for the victims of Magdeburg.

Some Pondscum shouted out during the silence "Germany for the Germans" and was immediately shouted down by the crowd who chanted en masse "Nazis Out, Nazis Out".

It is utterly spine tingling to watch.

The Idiot was arrested and charged with incitement, and won't see a football ground for a while.

Restored my faith in people, at least a little bit.

He would probably be cheered in England unfortunately. Reform and the Tories will win in the end.

I guess we'll find out in roughly four years.

The good news is that a lot can happen between here and there.

Yeah, things moving apace isn't always good either.

However, the current UK government need something to offset the current attacks (baseless and otherwise) in both traditional and social media that are having an effect on public perception -  as ridiculous as it is that so many people vote based on perception over facts.

If I was KS, I'd say F' em all and just get on with the plan for the next 3.5yrs. The GBP have the attention span of a goldfish to a larger extent, so as long as things are looking good in the last 6mths to a year then Lab are probably going to be in for another term. Spending too much time on the distractions from the press and Whatabouterry will do him more harm than good.

That seems to be the current plan at the moment.

Here's hoping that focus on substance over style can win the day in this heavily image-obsessed era.

It's always the people you most suspect.

It's gratifying to have your opinion of a person confirmed by an ethics committee after so many years of reasonable suspicion.

Nice to see some ****ing accountability for once - next stop should see him prosecuted, surely?

Not sure how much faith I have in the justice system to see him off, given the current disposition of both the incoming administration and the Supreme Court.

Not saying she's right or wrong,  probably right but she had concerns during the filming about actions by Baldoni yet she carried on with the the filming and production when, if she was so upset, she could've bailed out. And look at the consequential publicity that's occurring. Hollywood faff.

She threatened to pull out of the set and advertising the film unless he changed his behaviour. It seems he did so, but then started a smear campaign against her as revenge. So now she’s calling him on it.
