They’re also at Wembley at least once a season year after year. It’s expensive and they just don’t have the massive fanbase.

It must get very old very quickly. Wembley two or three times a season as well as multiple European trips. As massive a day out as this is for Forest, it must be close to a bit of a chore for Manchester City.

Would probably help if the semi's weren't at Wembley too. Dragging their arses down to London on a Sunday evening is a bit of a ball ache.

yea, Midlands v Lancashire, this is exactly the sort of game that should be at somewhere like Villa Park or Hillsborough.

Don’t think it would be right to have it at Hillsborough but Villa or Leeds would be fine haha.

Just seen it’s 30 times in the last 14 seasons

Having the semi at Wembley has, unfortunately, been going on for so long that the tradition of having it at a decent neutral stadium equidistant between the two teams passed into memory.

It's farcical, though. Why play any game other than the final at Wembley if it's between, say, two northern sides?

Madness. The fans must know it almost as well as the Etihad at this point.

Hillsborough doesn’t have the facilities for a semi final in this day and age

No, it doesn't. But since the tradition of playing games at neutral stadia other than Wembley stopped, we have see multiple decent stadia with capacities above 40,000 either built or renovated.

Etihad

Old Trafford

Anfield

Bramley Moore (from next season)

St James's Park

Stadium of Light

Villa Park

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Emirates

London Stadium

Stamford Bridge

Genuinely no reason why there can't be semi-finals at neutral grounds.

It could be why Birmingham have a vision of building a 62k seater to tap into these semi finals & International games as well as NFL, concerts etc with the strap line of we are pretty central within the country to support most neutral travelling friends.

They had the chance for the commonwealth games and decided not to. Funnily enough the KP would be a very good candidate for a semi given the stadiums dimensions.
