Soumare appears to be a totally different player to me. Receives a pass, often feints & / or passes it and then moves into a better position and demands the ball back.

He's also significantly upped his work rate.

It's like night and day

Bilal looks as though he's going to be a phenomenal player under anyone's watch - You can just see the lads got it in spades.

Whilst I whole heartedly agree regarding Soumare, it's probably not a coincidence that he's being deployed in the role he was so successful in at Lille, previous managers haven't had the brains to utilise him there!

Surely Bilal El Khannouss.

Bouba Soumaré.

BEK was possibly just growing in to English football anyway and the team having a bit more freedom to attack has given him more opportunities to show off what he can do.

I'm not suggesting there hasn't been improvement but that he was probably always quite decent.

Soumaré was an absolute train wreck however and has looked like one of our best players, consistently, for a few weeks now.

Soumare’s improved that is an easy comment to make BUT I can’t help think that he has played a part in quite a few goals conceded in our little run of picking up ZERO points.

Watch a lot of the goals back and he’s still the wrong side of his man.

It’s pretty well documented that his ability on the ball was never in question and not asking for him to be dropped just think it’s worth highlighting.

I mean Soumare had brilliant performances against Man Utd in the cup and against Ipswich, both under Cooper, but lets ignore them. Don't let a good agenda get your way!

Perhaps something has just clicked this season for him. There was talk of him struggling to adjust, home sickness, I think perhaps he's just more settled and/or knuckled down.

Another alternative view, is his contract will be expiring before he knows it and he's realised he needs to perform to a) Get a move or b) Get a new contract here. (We've seen that before)

Agenda's aside and answering the question - Most Improved player under RVN? Bilal El Khannouss.

The pessimist in me thinks that it’s because  Sevilla didn’t come back for him and other clubs weren’t interested.

May have realised he needs to earn that next move now

Interesting question. Two aspects imo. Individual coaching or team structure. First aspect difficult to evaluate, and a bit early to tell. Second clear to see  arguably Ruuds beginning to improve them all by providing patterns that can maximise their ability. Obviously work in progress especially in defence.

AI can help you with your punctuation.

A few months ago, before RVN was in charge under Blooper, we looked dreadful and some players seemed to just be making up the numbers. I must say, I know I gave him a bit of stick for his lack of movement—his heat map wouldn’t fill a postage stamp, and I described him as a traffic cone in the middle of the KP pitch. But he’s made me eat my words. Now, he is like a new player for us—he’s absolutely amazing at times. He has gone from donkey to rhino, breaking up plays, making runs, and delivering passes. My God, I take it all back. There is a player in there, and I hope he improves even more in the coming games. Bouba Soumare, take a bow!

For you Jon the prince of punctuation Police, the original above and I have replaced it with Chat GPT correct version !

Mind you this was dictated to iPhone at about 3am so I couldn’t be asked to check the punctuation, I hope you do understand?😉

Exactly Bilal will be immense over the coming weeks and months just hope that he doesn’t get his head turned by a top 6 6 side, as for Bouba he is becoming an important part of the midfield and with Harry Winks in the side we play a better game !
