Alonso isn't very happy is he lol

Could do with Briatori in his corner rather than Alpine at this track...

Croft did during the coverage if I heard correctly.

As well as a huge chunk of people on socials. Perhaps he's just an FT troll and doesn't roam around the internet that much

Oscar not happy - maybe unsurprising.

Do McLaren prefer Norris and is it deliberate?

Lewis Hamilton got a penalty for track limit offences so lost a position to Alonso.

From Oscar's onboard you can understand why it would have irked him. Would like to think after the race he'd probably have understood it a bit more.

Imagine the conspiracy theories had Oscar's engine given up in Zandvoort.

Monza was a unique situation. Both McLaren's had waited til near the end of the race for a SC which never came. By this point it's fair to say that the race is over between them, not exactly called off but because there was a 4/5s gap from what I recall, it was extremely unlikely they'd end up engaging in a wheel to wheel battle. I personally thought the swap was fair enough and in-line with their incredibly friendly, yet sometimes tedious team-tactics (see Hungary 2024). They were also in an uncommon position where they could actually fix and revert the positions as there was no traffic between them. If this happened mid-race I think it's possible they wouldn't have switched it back as it feels like more of a live pit stop. Towards the end in Monza it was clear they'd settled for their 2-3 in that order.

Singapore... I mean if we want to just watch them hold position then sure he was in the wrong lol "rubbing is racing" "if you dont go for a gap......" seems to only go when the narrative suits. It's clear though it's now the fashionable thing to hate on McLaren/Norris. They didn't even favour Norris against Piastri last year when it was him Vs Max until it was too late and think that was only on one occasion

Norris is definitely preferred by McLaren, but I don’t think he’s had a huge run of the green with these tinpot papaya rules aside from Monza . I can see why he was a bit peeved but the constant crying during the race really has him going down in my estimations. I hope he carries this energy into the latter rounds and FairPlay for Norris for going for it. My biggest issue with this year is it does feel neither really care about being world champion, hopefully with the constructors wrapped up they have a bit of a ding dong but I’m not holding my breath

Yeah I'm inclined to agree.

His engineer said Lando was avoiding Max and almost made it sound like he knew he was going to hit Oscar but I don't think that was the case. Not sure Lando could do much else really and I'm sure Oscar would've made the same move into the corner if the shoe was on the other foot.

I was assuming that they didn't want to admit over the radio that Lando hit Max or Red Bull might have gone whining to the stewards. So they used the word "avoid". They were reviewing the incident for a good while until they gave Oscar an explanation so I'm guessing they were working out what to say without admitting any guilt.

That collision would have helped Oscar understand why his car twitched and had to correct the rear end snap into his front wheel.

Surely after seeing the onbaords he'd understand that it was accidental contact and that Lando had the corner before hitting Max.

"Mayer is barred from standing by a quirk of the FIA's election rules which means that no other candidate is able to challenge incumbent Mohammed ben Sulayem.

Presidential candidates must submit a list of their prospective vice-presidents for sport, which must be selected from each of the FIA's six global regions.

But the world council list contains only one candidate from South America, Brazilian Fabiana Ecclestone - wife of former F1 boss Bernie and she is already a member of Ben Sulayem's team.

That prevents any other candidate from naming a potential vice-president for sport from South America, which means no-one else can enter the election."

Matter of time before F1 leaves this absolute shower
