Let’s be honest he was never going to hang around here, even if we did stay up. He has plenty of suitors queuing up for him. It’s a great deal for us if we get a decent fee for him.

Sure, but my point was about we should never have been relegated to allow this sort of thing to happen.

I’m getting confused again, 1 minute the forum is telling me Seagrave/academy is not doing its job the next minute we should be hanging on to players 🤷‍♂️

I want a team full of academy lads as much as the next man but if, if we get 15m for a 16/17 we take it and say all the best.

There will be better options for what we need right now, look at Morgan Whittaker who went for half that and scored 14 for Boro & 7 assists still only 25…now I’m not saying him but as an example.

For what it’s worth my personal opinion is that out of all the academy lads who played last season in our 1st team Aluko will have the best career followed by Nelson it’s those 2 we need to keep.

After that the likes of Braybrooke, JJ, Cartwright and Wilson-Brown will build the foundations for our future team.
We just need to get as much as we can for Monga & unfortunately due to age what ever the system believes is fair for Motsi

Don’t be tricked into thinking this is a great deal. He is worth more than that. it’s the miss management of the club that as led to us getting rid for whatever we can. It’s a sad state of affairs and it’s going to get a a lot lot worse.

Regardless of financial position he'd of likely gone anyway, albeit we'd of perhaps got a bit more for him.

Completely incorrect sadly. If we'd maintained the position we were when the 4'11" Nepo baby inherited us we'd easily have got 2 or three actual seasons out of him, not just a few cameos and a paltry single goal in a relegation to the third tier.

Just another symptom of life under Aiwyyatw.

If we were still in that position I doubt we'd of actually used him as much

He'd have absolutely suited coming on against lower table dross in a good side more than the appearances he made for us this season.

Being suited and having a manager actually be willing to play them are two different things though. Aluko this season should have played more, but he didn't

if we’d have maintained our position, he wouldn’t have played the games he had played for us so far to show the potential he has. Bit of a catch 22 situation, unfortunately.

Still a lot of time for him to grow and develop or fall off a cliff.

Decent money for a 16 year old.

He is a great dribbler. Then again, if he finds an end product, he goes from being Denilson mk 2 to a genuine threat and player who will get people off a seat.

I actually think getting away from a toxic environment, being around players who are as good as and in fact better than him, can only be good for his career, and people are absolutely kidding themselves if they think otherwise. He might go out on loan, but he might not. If you’re in and around the first team at Arsenal, you won’t go far..

Even as a Leicester fan, I’d choose Arsenal over us right now, from a development standpoint it’s a huge upgrade.

Better quality coaches and a  positive environment can only aid him getting better.

Everything you hear about us just seems rotten to the core.

Even if he doesn’t develop a consistent end product, he’ll still have a great career at Premier League level.

That's the point though he is a young kid.  He, is still developing.  He won't play for Arsenals first team for a few years yet, some people think he is going to them to sit on their bench.  He isnt.  This, is Arsenal we are talking about.  Like, Chelsea, Man City, Utd, they buy players up not only to develop them but ship them out on loan.  Monga will probably end up on loan at a Championship club having been loaned out by Arsenal.  In order to aid his development.

‘ for a few years’

id disagree with that. I think Arsenal have shown they are not afraid to have young talent in and around the first team. Chelsea also have a very young team. I don’t think anyone is expecting him to go there and nail down the left wing from day one, though.

let’s look at Nyoni. Liverpool signed him from us is September 23 and he started getting first team games March 24.

Monga will have a fine career at Arsenal.

Arsenal have 2 of the 3 youngest ever PL debutants. Monga is the one they don't have.

Its not cut n dried that he doesn't get opportunities.

They also only have 3 players under the age of 24 in their 1st team squad.

Monga will undoubtedly get dragged along for the better within the Arsenal environment but he is far from being equal to the other 2 lads you refer to, he has a lot of growing up and belief in himself needed which is what stands those other 2 far and above our Monga.

Dowman at his age is coming on and changing high stakes games for instance showing belief he deserves to be there and can not only hold his own but drag the team along with him, Monga looks sheepish just coming out the tunnel at Leicester.

Looks like Nwaneri, now 19, will be moved on this summer with Newcastle sniffing around.

Of the 3 u24 currently at the club Lewis-Skelly also 19 was being talked about in making the England WC squad, they have something that Monga doesn’t currently have, can he find it at Arsenal can you even teach it.

If we can get a very good fee for him good luck to the lad I really wish him well.

This for me is the crux of it. The guy is not a "generational talent" but could become an excellent player as he develops and Arsenal is probably as good a place as any for him to go and have his natural talent nurtured.

He could also end up in the National League by his late 20s. Depends as much on his attitude, work ethic etc as how technically good he is.

Would be great to see that journey happen at City but that opportunity for him and others like say Motsi has been taken away from us, by the wanton mismanagement of this football club.

It is what it is....

Shame him going to arsenal but if we get a loan back I’ll be happy. Wish nothing but the best for him

I think Monga needs to spend time with actual coaches to learn how to play football as a team member and pass the ball, rather than show off trying to skin everyone. We would be a terrible choice for his development.

He should turn into a quality player once he learns how to play in a team with discipline, tactics and leadership.
