I’m not having the Perez one ability wise, we paid too much but he’s gone else where and done well. 10 goals in 16 this season and in the Spain squad that won the euros.

Maybe my opinion is clouded by his cameo in the PSV away game where his presence changed the game. Was my fave away day I think.

Far better that Ayew, would be an asset in this side now.

Perez career here genuinely annoys me. Whilst we're a world away from being annoyed by a players underperformance whilst still winning domestic trophies and qualifying for Europe, I'm not having it that we somehow neglected and under appreciated Ayoze. The bloke was an absolute master at blazing over the bar piss easy chances, sometimes in do or die matches and being complicit in our decline.

Maybe he suffered from a lack of confidence here that enhanced that or it just didn't work out for him here (that happens) but it's irksome.

Easily the best away in 50 yrs and hundreds of away games for me. Shame we  got kept in for so long after though

Hernandez wasn't massively poor, he just didn't really feature after a few minthe or settle. Or that was my recollection anyway.

He made 9 appearance in La Liga for Cádiz CF, think he's still in there squad in Liga 2 after relegation.

I just think it was an odd signing he made less than 10 apps 4 of which were in the champs league at RB playing the full 90.

What a terrible summer window that was 60m spent and everyone who was sign left on a free except, Musa and Hernandez.

I agree to some extent, but he was part of a side that player some great football in the first half of 19/20.

He had a good partnership on the right with Riccy, he would tucked in and RP overlapped.

That's season he got 7 goals and 4 assists in the 26 games he played until Riccy did he's ACL against Villa.

Pretty sure i did some research but even in that season when we were electric I don't think many of his goals or assists effected the outcome of a result, even though that crude assessment can be very misleading.

He certainly wasn't doing what he's done at Betis, Villareal and his national side.

Helps when you play players in their correct position, he's always been a second striker or left sided forward that drifts inside. We persisted with playing him right wing for 4 years, we did the same with Lookman. Both looked far more comfortable whenever they were not on the right and excelled since leaving.

Of all our dud signings, Perez is only beaten to the top spot by Danny Ward for me, given the context of our team's strength at the time.

I don't care what he has or hasn't done at other clubs, he was a terrible signing for us.  No player has ever frustrated me more.  Always on his backside, always losing possession with the strength of a kitten and the weak link in a great team.  As much a Rodgers pick as Ayew was for Cooper and that, coupled with his scarcely believable price tag led to him being persevered with for far too long imo.  I have often wondered, what if... Where would we be now if we had got that last piece of the jigsaw right?

I remember this argument being trotted out many times, until he was played behind the striker and stank the place out just as much as he did on the right.  He played the majority of his Newcastle games on the right, not the left.

He played the second half of 18/19 before he joined us on the right, that was the first time he'd reguarly played there 18/19 17/18 16/17 15/16 14/15

I just don't think Rodgers got the best out of him.

His best work has been at SS or CF

Do you remember when Vardy was injured and Perez was chosen over Iheanacho at CF?

It was horrific.

He's smashing it in Villareal at CF/SS

Both Nacho and Perez struggled at CF under Rodgers, only Vardy flourished because he was elite.

Coaching and set up issue for me.

Rarely if ever got played in his best position behind a main striker. An asset not used correctly by Rodgers.

His finishing was atrocious, that wasn't caused by the position he was played. I think his mentality here was poor, maybe that's changed since he's left here and it's revolutionised him.

His shooting ability and final execution was definitely on a par with Daka's at present! We paid stupid money for both on Rodgers' watch too!

Perez in front of goal was dog muck. I've not forgiven his blaze over the bar which would have got us a point at Chelsea in the second top four cock up.

Couldn't knock his work rate though and he was a victim of being a jack of all trades player and not having a proper position. Could have been utilised better that's for sure. Was a massive waste of money though definitely. Just like nearly all Rodger's signings.

He did well playing off of Rodon. We didn't play that way or have a player like him. That summer I wanted us to go for Bowen and Che Adams for the right wing and back up to Vardy.  We ended up with Perez as a sort of 2 for the price of 1 but ended up not really being either.  Now I know Che didn't do much, but he was only £10mill of f the back of a decent season for Birmingham.  In fact he had a mad season for them before he went to Southampton.

Dont understand why we didn't bring Mavididi on actually.

I thought we should have brought on Mav to replace Daka and play him down the middle. He's comfortable with the ball and could have brought others into the game.

Instead Facundo was like a rabbit in headlights and didn't know were he should be.

BTG youtube vids hinting that there are issues behind the scenes with Stephi. Shame as he is the only one with any pace up top and i felt earlier in the season he changed some games (including Brighton under Ruud).

I didn't hear any of that. I hope it's not too serious as we can't afford to lose him also from the squad.
