Way too much emphasis is put on so-called “leaders” in the dressing room. It’s a total fallacy.

Even Alexander The Great couldn’t turn the sacks of shit we have into a football team.

Alexander the Great, he never even played the game :nigel:

Its the manager that keeps selecting him that is the problem

Not vardy

Thing is, with the power that Vardy has - I think any manager would struggle to not have Vards as the "main man" and still keep the dressing room.

I honestly think the toxic atmosphere would be even worse if it wasn’t for Vardy playing in this side.

Our greatest ever player is surrounded by this shit. It’s not even like I am indifferent to the other 10. 6 of them I hate.
So hard to support a team when you don’t even like majority of the players.

Evidence? Maybe he picks him because he thinks our only other striker is shit.

The fact that a 38 year old, who has missed the last 10-15 chances he has had plays a full 90 mins and then starts again the next game? We know he has been influencial in getting other managers fired?

Is our only other striker better? Has Vardy engineered a situation where we only have one other striker? It's the ****ing board - wake up!!!

And that is bullshit too.

Find me any other leader in that bunch of hopeless *****

The leaders were sold one by one and replaced with the likes of Faes, Soumare and Kristiansen.

It's already been mentioned that most of the side went straight down the tunnel. The issue with this side isn't Vardy.

And all of them needed firing.

Having players that give a shit enough to call out crap managers is fine. Rather those sort of players than the couldn't care less wastrels we have wandering around the training pitch right now.

It's always dangerous ground with Vardy. It's an elephant in the room. But he is sadly a part of this.

I don't think we do know that. Which manager would you be talking about? Or is this going back to the totally unfounded Ranieri-era rumours?

If we ever intended to be a serious top flight proposition then we should have set up to use Vardy sparingly. Regardless of our failure to do that, he's still the least of our problems right now (especially given the alternatives).

And no striker on earth would thrive in this team.

I'm probably going to get a bit of heat for this but has anyone ever considered that he's a significant part of the problem with regards to poor player attitudes?

He's been there during the reign of more than one manager now who the players have turned on. IF he is influential in the locker room, have we ever considered that he's a BAD influence?

I know it's Jamie Vardy, possibly our greatest ever player but let's be honest, the guy is a knob. That's one of the things we like about him but maybe we underestimated how much of a knob he actually is...

This had crossed my mind

He starts every game because he’s our best striker. It’s a very sorry state of affairs for a PL club to have a 38-year-old as its best striker, but that’s on the club, not Vardy.

And as for getting managers fired, can you name which managers we’ve sacked during Vardy’s time that we shouldn’t have done?

Vardy is the best finisher.

Unfortunately he can’t get away from people, so relies on getting the ball near him now.

We press better with Daka.

However wants the point in playing a higher press, when the other two forwards are about as mobile as a set of concrete bollards as well.

This exactly, Vardy may well be the best finisher we have ever had. BUT what's the point in playing a 38 year old every game and mostly for 90 mins when his main asset was his pace and the fact that this system just does suit him. Honestly we can't just scapegoat him as firstly he's a club legend and it's the managements fault for picking him (regardless of how much power he may or may not have). But ultimately it's the club's fault for not buying a player years ago that could get when 50% of the way to replace Vardy.

His performance last night was abysmal.

Missed key chances yet again, and how he's lasted another 90 minutes I do not know.

The Vardy problem and playing him constantly shows me how clueless Ruud really is.
