He had a relegated squad in saints who tbh should have gone up automatically and yet he squeaked the playoff win but other than that he has a bang average record …… I really do not get it and why the board think he is the man to take us up and build the future around I really do not get it - he is also a complete you know what …..sad and long days ahead 5

Which they did. Let's not pretend they didn't massively fail like us... They were shit for a while as we know. Which means due to our clear player and financial superiority, they were fighting for one automatic spot with Leeds, throw in Ipswich, who nobody expected to be up there, and it's harder than you think. Let's now rewrite history just because they were relegated and didn't get automatic. 2

And Leeds in my opinion had a better squad.
inckley fox Posted 26 May 2025 Posted 26 May 2025 So he had one season with Southampton when he arguably met expectations, before having a shocker the next. Other than that his record is just slightly below par. That still doesn't sound very good. 2
Popular Post cityfanlee23 Posted 27 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 27 May 2025 Anyone else have the feeling that our first championship pre match conference will be Ruud Van Nistelrooy talking about needing alignment having not spoken to the board yet and wondering what his future is 🤣 15
Popular Post Claudio Fannieri Posted 27 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 27 May 2025 I am sadly clinging onto the hope that Russell Martin is the name leaked as the next manager only to end up as someone else, it’s happened quite a bit with recent appointments, Marsch then Smith, Parker then Enzo, Potter then Cooper so here’s hoping Martin only for it to be Rohl or Muslic or Wellens. 6
Foxes1 Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 When Martin gets the sack after 10 games next season who do we bring in next Ivan Juric

We can only hope. It does seem go be somewhat of a pattern, and I wonder if it's because the club is so secretive about what it's doing.
indierich06 Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 We should keep this thread open to be fair, when Russ comes in we can start the speculation about the next bloke, then keep it going in perpetuity.

Martin O'Neill the same back in 2011, for about 2 weeks their was so many links and stories about a emotional return to Leicester. According O'Neill it was nothing more than one quick conversation... the board wanted Pearson.
Leicesterpool Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 Typical Leicester though we may not spoke to no one. Which at present id prefer, got all summer decide the perfect candidate. Better off sack him and see who wants it first.

I think, unfortunately, this time its not going to happen bud. Mainly because we were destined to be together. Just going to have to hope he proves us all wrong. 2
smudgerfox Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 Read or heard somewhere the other day that we only got Claudio because he submitted his own CV - he wasn't on the official candidate list at all. And we only got Enzo because Jesse effin Marsch turned us down. Whenever you hear anything about the selection process they’re usually impressed by powerpoint presentations - which tells you all you need to know. Bunch of amateurs who think they’re replacing Colin from Accounts… 1 1

I’d like to think we’ve been planning next appointment for a couple of months, or at least since relegation was confirmed last month.
TheFiveTime Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 oh no, it really is going to be martin isnt it? crikey crikey crikey. guess focus on work on weekends this year then?
Foxin_Mad Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 Such a banter club. Expect the KPFC fans will lap him up when his wins the odd game and he punches the air to a cheer, so tin pot.
AKCJ Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 I do think that Martin will be a good appointment. Nothing earth shattering but I think in 12 months time he'll have the club in a better place than it is now. 1
