LOROS Hospice  ·

Follow

We’re delighted to announce that we collected a mighty **£3,000** in donations at Leicester City v Man United match on Sunday! That’s the equivalent of 6 days of bucket collections in just 90 minutes! Huge thanks for everyone’s generosity and to the club for their support.
In addition we’ve been gifted the kind of publicity money can’t buy with the awesome sight of our LOROS logo on players’ warm up shirts and beamed around the stadium to 32,000 supporters (plus millions more watching on TV), it was a great success!
We were raising funds for our counselling service and it was great to see LOROS feature so much across LCFC’s social channels, including the visit from two players, Mads and Victor.
Laura Betts, Head of Fundraising, said: “Sunday night proved just how much LOROS means to LCFC supporters and we were so touched by so many amazing LCFC fans who wanted to help. It’s really heart-warming and we are so grateful to everyone who donated or stopped to speak to us. LCFC’s campaign to support LOROS throughout March is really helping us to raise awareness as well as money – both are crucial for us right now. We love working with the Club and its fans and are looking forward to building on our amazing partnership over the next few years and seeing the difference we can make together.”

May be an image of 2 people, people playing American football, people playing football and text that says "FILBERT WAY TEN"

This is great and well done LCFC now please tell me why you your own fans with disdain and negativity?.

(Apologies if this comes across as patronising but it sums up how I feel re LCFC  - DISDAIN - the feeling that someone or something is unworthy )

I work in social media - data, insight & strategy for a mid-sized PR firm - and I have to say, it's quite poor from the club. They've kind of established a tone that works well when we're doing ok, but comes across as really tone deaf when we're not.

I have no doubt they're being told to keep it positive by the powers-that-be, same goes for the constant flogging of kits. But then I've always thought their 'on-calendar' content was nonsense (Greek Independence Day, really?) and I feel like there's a way to approach the situation we're in positively while also reading the room.

The stuff about how good the players are doing during the international break is particularly tone deaf to me - 'Ayew leading Ghana to back-to-back wins' or 'Jannick and Victor smashing it for Denmark' etc - at best it just highlights what a terrible job they're doing here, and at worst it just shows what they're potentially capable of when they pull on a shirt they care about.

They don't need to be posting so much, I'd say when we're doing poorly just dial down the volume in terms of how much you're posting - and focus on stuff that shows the players training hard, trying their best to turn the poor form around etc. Feels like they're often in denial about where we are and how we're doing.

I'd sooner see On this Day previous LCFC achievements but we'd more than likely get KP achievements I'm surprised we don't already. "Congratulations to KP on this day we purchased.........."

That’s why I don’t read any of the SM posts. I mean what do you really expect them to write? “Foxes were shiste yet again!”

it’s what they have to do irregardless of the performances. Put a positive spin on everything is the mandate. Just switch it all off it’s just useless noise for now.

I don't go on twitter anymore but they did used to post On This Day or ex players / managers birthdays. Not sure if they still do that.

I posted this in the Faes thread but to be honest I was close to starting my own thread with it.

This.... this is the problem.... as it is throughout the club.

Their leader is another to add to the "been here forever, jobs a piece of piss" crew.....

tabor.png

Just to add to this the rest of the team....

Marketing manager has been there 10 years

Brand Manager has never been a brand manager before

Marketing exec has been there for 7 years with zero desire to progress.

Head of Media... 13 years in role

Head of Content/Brand.... 17 years at the club

Content Manager.... 10 years at the club

It's absolutely hillarious. No chance to progress, no desire to progress, no fresh ideas whatsoever.

The 'newest' employee has still been there longer than tiktok has even existed.

Comfortable FC

Recruitment at lcfc is as honking as player recruitment. Aside from our god awful playing side, the Marketing dept has to be the worst in the premier league.

Speaking of ‘tone deaf’, do they still play Black Eyed Peas ‘Tonight’s Gonna Be A Good Night’ over the tannoy after a defeat?

It's no good asking on here most have left before the final whistle has blown.

What do you mean a Happy Independence Day Bangladesh post followed by a Happy Birthday Richie Wellens one is the sign of a confused and messy social media strategy?!

The vast majority of posts on there aren’t for the local (or ‘legacy’ as they would call it) fan base. If an update on the Belgian Red Devils and Wout Faes wins a couple more Belgian fans then job done as far as the club is concerned.

It would be so easy to find a fan with the relevant professional experience to run a club Twitter account and do it with authenticity in a way that resonates massively with local fans. They don’t care about those fans though - they care about doing it however some agency has told them will help their ‘international brand’.

As usual you're on the money.

Caring about this club shouldn't be a passive activity that is reserved to liking bullshit on the ether.

We should actively care, and challenge, that the club is ran from top to bottom in the way that actually represents us as fans.

A small part, but significant in the context of the wider world, is social media. For better or worse. We should absolutely be challenging this God awful presentation of the club no matter how insignificant it seems.
