Just a bit of fun, or perhaps a chance to get something off your chest.

Mine would be to my late father in law.

Did you know that the 'free' grant you finally succeeding in getting, to have foam insulation installed in your roof, made the house unsellable?

Your 'Owt fer nowt' philosophy ended up costing thousands.

My Dad passed away on 20th January 2015.

After he died, Mum gave me the letters he wrote me to read.

Try and decipher the writing, then have a think of how poignant that is now.

I often wonder what he’d have been thinking. Especially as he detested Huth at Stoke.

My Grandfather was a desert rat in WWII. He was captured and spent time in a POW camp in Italy. He escaped and lived for some time with a partisan family near Sarnano in Le Marche. He died when I was about 15.

I would love to ask him about it. Everything. I have so many questions now. But looking back I get the feeling that he didn't want to talk about it.

In return he could ask me about Leicester finally winning the FA Cup.

My Grandad died 2 months before I was born and my Gran remarried about 15 years later.

Her second husband was part of the D-Day landings on the front line. I tried a couple of times to ask him about it but he always closed down or changed the subject.

Can't imagine the horrors they saw.

Would like to ask my Uncle and Aunt. He served in Normandy and Germany. He then met a Polish nurse who had been forced to work in Germany. They married. Would like to ask them both about their wartime experiences

A relative going back generations was a highwayman. He operated around the Wigston/Leicester area. He was hung eventually in the 1800's........would have been an interesting few questions ! Anyway, George Davenport was his name.

Never met either of my grandfathers. I've always wished I could have met them both just to see what they were like.

Random thing for the mortgage company to get upset about.

You would be suprised(i wa.s!) My parents house only had the panels to heat up the water, but then the buyers mortage providers wanted to know if it was making any money from the National Grid,Needed an extra check on the roof and extra Electrical checks......put us back 3 months on getting our new house which fell through!Blessing in disguise really as we were supposed to move into a new build by Persimmon and we are hearing horror stories from the estate. Now live in an old fishermans house and couldn't be happier!

You think how long that fisherman's house has probably been there too. I'd imagine it has character. Most new builds won't stand long enough to develop character.
