Sorry if there is a better place for this but I am a man of a certain age.  Looking at next weekend we are away to Brighton and Wolves are at home to Spurs.  Never thought I would say this but the life has been sucked out of me so much.  Realistically/hopefully we lose and Wolves win.  This means we will be all but mathematically relegated.  Hopefully this will be when Ruud's contract is mutually terminated.  This would give us time to appoint a new manager who will have time to get rid off all of the deadwood and dross in our squad (might not be able to field 11 for the last few games tho 🤔).  Much rather have that than letting Rudkin decide who goes and stays and bringing in a new manager the day before the summer transfer window closes.

I think we'd have to wait another week if there is a relegation clause in his contract regarding dismissal, otherwise he'd technically get compensation as until it is impossible mathematically not to be able to catch Wolves then we aren't relegated officially.

Literally, it is the next weekend. The one after isn't the next weekend. I tend to say at the weekend which is actually the next weekend! This weekend is the current one that's already started.

So the following week Liverpool we could be relegated.

Seems like a great day for a demonstration.

Shall we get a plane to fly over towing a banner?

Next weekend is the weekend after the one coming up.

So the NEXT weekend isn't actually the NEXT weekend? :D

It’s worse than that I’m afraid, relegation clauses don’t kick in until our PL membership ends on 30th June. There’s case law on this and I think it was when Joe Royle left Oldham in 1993.

This weekend is the end of this week.

Next weekend is the end of next week.

No weekend has already started, it’s only Wednesday

Either way, it’s all irrelevant as we’ve been relegated for weeks. If we have a relegation release clause and the club truly wanted to get rid of him they could have just paid him until the end of the season rather than wait for it to be formal. He wouldn’t have to hang around or have a relegation on his CV. Knowing Rudkin he probably offered him a relegation bonus

THIS weekend is exactly the same as NEXT weekend. Unless the weekend has started. Have people forgotten how to speak English? Perhaps more American influence?

Depends on how the clause is written, perhaps :dunno:

That's disappointing. But wouldn't it depend on the wording of his contract. If it states, that once relegation is confirmed, compensation will only be paid until the 30th June 2025. Any additional years of his contract would be waived.
