I'm a fan and havent renewed? why am i not a fan? would love to know your thoughts?

Perversely, according to many on this forum, you’re not a supporter if you do renew as  “you’re part of the problem”. Do you actually think that by not renewing it’s going to make everything fine? If it makes those who haven’t renewed, feel better, then that’s fine too. Look at how many protests over the years that Man Utd.; Newcastle and Spurs fans have made. Ashley took all sorts of abuse before he went but left when he was ready and not before. The other 2 teams owners are still there. I support the team first and foremost. The fact that the money goes to King Power is irrelevant. It was going to them when we won the league and cup. Just acknowledge that the majority have renewed for reasons of their own and are not influenced by people trying to put them down for doing so and bringing out the Happy Clapper tosh and “you’re to blame” rubbish.

I’ve not been STH since 2017 due to work commitments, I’ll be applying again this year. I hate everything about the club atm but there’ll come a time when I won’t and I want to be there when that time comes.

so basically to be a fan you have to put up with it and just sit there watching a team that do not want to be there? with owners that see the fans as customers?

If that's the case then count me out of being a fan.

No, you don’t have to put up with it and can withdraw your support/custom accordingly. But that doesn’t give those that take that path any right to criticise those that do renew. It’s a reasonably subjective decision with those renewing/not renewing for their own personal reasons.

I hate what we are at present but understand those that renew because they go with family or it forms a valued part of their social life or just because they want to.

If it was't for my son and his love for going to the games I would of called it a day this season. I have never felt so disconnected from the club that I have had a season ticket for over 28 years, it just seems that they are on a mission to constantly piss us off.

Explained on here my reasons for renewing before, but they're personal rather than for any affection for the club at this point in time. Think we've got a plan to wrangle the ticket situation given I'm probably going to be going to 10 games tops next season. Just moved 100 miles and will be taking the plunge with non-league instead, including for the rest of this season.

I'm delighted that 38% of you haven't bothered. Even accounting for the KPFC happy clappers, there is going to be a big drop-off in attendance in general next season and it's no less than Top and the Gang deserve.

Dunno what the 'we were in League One once' morons are going to say instead once we end up there again.

That's way higher than another number that's floating around.

That would mean only 14k renewed, which is lower than even when we were in league 1 and 7k lower than Cov currently have.

I don't and will not ever criticise anyone I don't like how any one is being called out of they renew or not but to be told you can't be a fan of you don't renew is just pure arrogance.

Anyone who renews who genuinely enjoys going down there and is happy with the treatment / way the club is ran then fair enough.

Anyone who doesn't even like going and thinks it's a shit experience and can see how the club is being ran into the ground with zero lessons learnt.........makes zero sense.

No problem with people renewing in that top category.

you will never know the true number that dont renew i wouldnt have thought as the season tickets will still sell out as people will use the drop off to get one if they are on a waiting list.

Its great that new fans will get a ticket, however a couple of years in the championship and people will soon lose interest.

He's taking the number from the poll in this thread, not official statistics.

How many do we reckon haven't renewed, 1.5k?

i would say double that if i was to hazard a guess. I imagine the majority will be from the family stand just by looking at the attendances recently in that stand alone there is the most empty seats in the ground.

There will be pockets open up around the ground but i would say 95%+ of the SK1,2,3 will have remain as the majority have been there since the stadium opened.

I've renewed.  I go with my 2 teenagers who are keen to keep going, and we're not ready to give up just yet.

From what I see on this forum, there are a lot of people who've been trying to get seasons tickets for a while, so I imagine the club will still manage to sell them all.  At this stage people are still hopeful that Ruud will be sacked, Rudkin maybe moved to another role, and next season will be more enjoyable.  If we get stuck in the championship (or even relegated to league 1) it'll obviously be a different story.

My main reservation with renewing is the digital ticketing.  My eldest is at uni so he often can't come, and then my younger son brings a friend.  If this turns out to be impossible from now on, I may re-think next season.

The club do release rough numbers, this was posted earlier this season

Following a 98 per cent renewal rate among 2023/24 Season Ticket Holders, this summer saw 5,337 Fox Members apply for any Season Tickets that would become available after the renewal period closed. Based on the volume of applications and number of available Season Tickets, the qualification threshold was set at a minimum of 55 Home Priority Points, with 500 applicant Fox Members given the opportunity to become Season Ticket Holders for 2024/25.

Twist it how you like. A lot of the posts are ignoring the emotional pull of supporting City. If you feel that, it will always be difficult to just stop going.

And can't you tell.

They might stick around but if we continue on this trajectory the following season will be different

You're correct it was difficult but o are lots of decision in life but you have to make them and sometimes it's correct to examine the logic and reason to then follow your mind and not your heart.

Yeah, it goes both ways

Everyone should be able to make their own choice based on what is best for them without criticism

Utterly delusional. Support is a love for the club, which I don’t think anyone on this thread is lacking.

Support is not an automatic right for the current owners and leadership team to anyone’s hard earned money - especially in this climate.

STH since 2000, before anyone throws the 2016 bandwagon accusations around.

Side note; if you’re a “fan” why do you and your son need one again - if you’ve given yours up at any point in the past then by your own logic, you’re also not a “fan”..?

Because I wanted to sit with my son. Obviously

Im not suggesting not renewing makes you not a fan. Its just economically daft

One bad season. Football is a long old haul

It is if you still intend to go to circa 10 games anyway.

But having the ST with the massive differential to the matchday ticket is a way of keeping hold of you. Which is fine if that is your intension but questionable if it's the only reason for renewing.

I wonder what the renewal rate would be if the matchday price was a better / more realistic and fairer match to the ST price.

My 88 year old mum has just called me in a panic because she's missed the deadline to renew by mistake (she's had a ST next to my sister for donkey's years). She pays for her ticket in full up front so it hasn't been automatically renewed. If she calls first thing tomorrow, will she still be able to keep her seat, do you think?

How did it pan out this morning?

I probably worded it badly, im not suggesting it doesnt make you a fan, It's just so expensive to go to games now without one that binning it off because of a bad season seems bonkers
