tbf we could appoint either dyche or Wilder and it doesnt mean theyll do well

im half tempted to believe that who we appoint as manager is irrelevant, we have to excavate deep down into the heart of of the club to have any realistic long term goal of staying in the prem. Wholesale changes needed. Manager needs backing, and a sensible transfer policy needed no matter who is in charge.

Hence why I would take Dyche right now.

That man would drag us up by the collar if he had to, and as the Burnley fan posted here, he played some good football in the Championship, when he can attack and is not just focussed on Premier League survival on a budget.

He would also give us a better chance of staying up, and then we can look to transition to a Manager who plays a better looking brand of Football.

Im not buying this idea that Dyche will destroy our youth set-up in a season and a half.

same with rohl tbf

If that’s true, then there is no point whatsoever looking at the CV of a Manager. We may as well just appoint Kingy and wing it.

I’d never considered this. But like season, where it seems only Cooper was prepared to take on a club destined for a points deduction, could the delay be Rohl and whoever else trying to delay things so he knows what he’s committing to?

What's more concerning for me is that I'm sure we'd all have liked a major revamp of the squad, which more than likely isn't going to happen now. Do not want to be going back up with the likes of Vestergaard, Soumare, Daka having semi decent seasons and then hoping they'll be good enough in the PL after 2 relegations

thing with Dyche, he'd want his own players; we'd then be in the same spot as we are now with players like skipp, ayew etc

and it would have an effect on the youth set up, cos theyve been playing a certain way and dyche doesnt do that.

ideal word we need a succession plan whoever we get in

Could also explain why Dyche was in the building and still in contact according to @Wymsey

Managers don’t want a -12pts and likely mid table at best finish l, so are delaying any decision.

I think there will be signings, I just think they need to offload first. 1 out 1 in.

Pretty late though isn't it. I'm sure we'd cope with new signings not having much of a pre-season with us but still

-12 points? 😂

I can’t see any major changes to our playing squad.

Don’t think we will be able to shift many, and we would be foolish to sell our better players like Bilal, Abdul, etc.

Any new Manager will likely be told to use what we have. Despite the justified negativity around the squad, we still have more than enough to compete near the top IF the new guy can find a way to motivate them and our punishment isn’t too severe.

That’s what they are waiting for. An extreme would put them off and there are rumours in the media it will be double figures.

I doubt it too, but I can see why an ambitious Manager doesn’t want to be stuck in the Championship for more than a season, and so wants to wait to see what the punishment is.

id be incredibly surprised if anyone came in for Abdul, given hes been out for like well over 9 months

Same with Mads hopefully.

If he rediscovers his form post injury, then he will be the best keeper in the Championship once again and win us some games.

id imagine they’d be getting a pre-season somewhere though. I’m sure they are not being kept locked up in a box. But I get your point- they need to blend into the team.

my biggest concern is that the longer we go without a manager , the bigger chance that any ‘ decent deals’ are going to be snapped up by other clubs. In my own opinion, for example, it’s a crime that Patrick Ageymang is going to Derby County…

He's a class GK but I'd sell him in a heartbeat if it meant having cash to get one or two decent strikers.

Weaken one position to benefit the team as a whole.

Shouldn’t sell for under £20million and don’t think many would consider paying that with his recent surgery and being attached to a relegated team.

Stolarczyk wearing No.1 yesterday, maybe points towards Mads being sold.

So did the young lad in the second half.

I genuinely didn’t pick up on that. My mistake.

I agree, £20m would be my cut off as well.

Feckin hell, that would be disastrous for us. Immediate relegation to nonleague
