Stick him on the payroll full time

Can he do the DoF role? He’d probably be quite good at negotiating contracts! Gerrim in!

The most staggering aspect of all this is the belief the board had in Cooper and the squad to avoid relegation.

They've deliberately submitted Y24 accounts late to avoid a points deduction this season and postpone the punishment until next season.

If they (the board) believed that they weren’t under the ruling of the EPL why would they submit their accounts when they requested them?

As well as borrow more money in January against PL TV rights (IIRC)

It’s got to the point where I’m actually finding it really funny.

I read that we could’ve taken the points deduction this season, so it wouldn’t have made any difference!!!

I know our administration is awful and we deserve what we get, hopefully Di Marco can prove the PL’s incompetence again.

CFC run rings around the PL’s rules and are now making a profit, after buying over a billion pounds worth of players. Obviously, no PSR rules were broken 🤷‍♀️

I believe they were banking on still being in the premier league and the PL not having  jurisdiction again for our Y24 accounts because were in the championship.

But the premier league changed their rules last month and the recent tribunal upheld the rule change giving them jurisdiction on the Y24 accounts from the championship.

I'm a simpleton on all this, so I have a question.

It sounds like to me the premier league changed their rules because we made them realise they have holes. At the time, we thought we were in the championship so didn't need to submit our accounts for y24. So at the time we didn't do anything wrong. They change the rules AFTER this so if you're either in the prem or EFL they can charge you. So how can they go back and say you breached the rules when they were applied after the event? Surely that is abuse of power? Changes the rules after the event and then charging us seems flawed to me?

Again, this might me being dense, but isn't it like doing 40mph one week, they change the speed limit the following week to 30mph then me getting a speeding ticket for doing 40mph even though that's what the limit was last week?

Im not defending the board, they are incompetent to even be in this situation and need to be sacked.

Happily be corrected if I'm being utterly dim.

Not you being dense, that's exactly how it works.

The PL are not fit to govern, they abuse their power to suit their own agenda.

Its incredulous you can change the rules a month ago to close a loophole and then apply it too accounts submitted 31/12 /24.

I guess we ****ed up massively by submitting the accounts past the deadline, which is why the tribunal found in their favour over the jurisdiction for our particular case.

At the end of the day we've overspent and tried every trick going to avoid punishment.

The first team never read the memo though and failed miserably, so it's all been a total waste of time and effort.

So we've been charged by the PL for last season. The view among the football finance 'experts' was that it would have been very tight for that period, so hopefully the breach was only small. Also: if the PL has jurisdiction for this, does that mean we can only be punished if/when we get promoted again?

I have never been a supporter of points deductions. There has to be some kind of control to stop clubs spending beyond their means and I think that a much fairer sanction would be to disallow clubs from promotion or, in the PL, competing in European competition, until the club has got its finances in order.
