Does anyone else find this 7's tournament really weird?

I mean I don't think it's a bad idea necessarily, but the timing of it is...

We've just finished the season and we're playing players that will highly unlikely be with us next season...

Mayling, Lehmann, Leitzig, Thibaud, Ale (probably too good for the WSL2), Cain, Ayanne, Rantala. Maybe also add Mouchon to that list.

Hope we do well, just finding it very odd.

Purely down to King Power wanting their name in lights I’d say. No other reason to enter it.

Leitzig won’t be here next season, I’m told Lehmann will be.

Unfortunately none of them are too good for the WSL2 right now, when they find a manager that can re-install confidence then maybe so, but most of these are on the way down, the future is Las. Sherwood, Keane, Mouchon, but most of what’s left will only move sideways if they leave.

That's been their intention across the whole club since day one hence the use of KPFC

If that is true, then you would like to think a new manager would bounce us back up. We've not got a good enough squad to be mid-table in the WSL, but we definitely have to finish at the top of WSL2.

Surely Rick has to be gone... I could not be more certain... But I am continuously proven wrong.

Very organised! You should work for the club! Seem to be more on it than them!

In fairness this isn’t my work, it’s a lass called Sarah on X/Twitter, she should work for the club though, more knowledge than the scouts about players.

Passmoor and Billiard are thick as thieves it seems, Billiard will likely report to Rudkin or the Owner.

If they are sacking Passmoor then Billiard should follow him but we all know the lot of them are clowns, they are more likely to be sat round a dinner table toasting relegation as they’ve saved a tenner on contract renewals.

My wife not bothered about renewing season ticket. Doesn't want to see them play in WSL2, especially with Pisspoor as manager. She says he's useless, which I'm in agreement with.

Also hates the 12:30 k.o. times.

We’ve posted a three-part review of the season over the past three days - the final part is here:

https://thefosseway.net/2026/05/28/the-big-leicester-city-women-2025-26-season-review-part-3-looking-to-the-future/

It’s interesting covering both the men’s and women’s teams. The numbers are pretty small in terms of interest in the women’s side but even running the site, it’s been tough to find the enthusiasm to watch the games or read the contributors’ match reports sometimes when it’s another chunk of the weekend dedicated to watching a Leicester defeat.

We’re going to try to keep it going next season though, as outside of this thread there’s very little critical thinking about LCFC Women out there, even when it seems like a parallel of the kind of lazy approach to scouting and strategy that’s affected the men’s side.

It's a shame that hopefully there will be more positives to write about next season (for the women's at least), but there's probably not going to be the eyes to see it as only the slightly more hardcore fans that are going to stick around.

Currently one nil up at half time vs LCL in the sevens thing. Live on sky if anyone's got nothing better to do.

Are women's championship games accessible on TV? Can't say I have seen them advertised.

WSL2 channel on YouTube.  I think every game is on there but it might just be a selection.

From what I can tell on the highlights for both the LCL games and even Chelsea, we were competitive. Though Chelsea have just got so much class, it's almost impossible to outdo them.

Is Passmoor managing during this tournament? Genuine question...

He's certainly there but the cameras are on the same side as the bench so it's not easy to see how much he's getting involved or whether he's letting others take the lead.

Wouldn’t read to much into the scores as 7s are usually high scoring and there were a lot of goals scored in all matches yesterday.

Also wouldn’t read to much into the tournament it’s all a bit of fun just look at all the goal celebrations, Ruby Mace’s against her old club for instance and Denny Drapers to make it 7:2 at the time, it’s just a show & they are all enjoying themselves.

Both our goals well taken, Denny’s and particularly Mouchon’s who hit hers with some venom.
Think Katie Keane might just be nipping ahead of Leitzig for next season mind.

Our full squad:

Janina Leitzig

Katie Keane

Asmita Ale

Heather Payne

Julie Thibaud

Sarah Mayling

Nelly Las

Sam Tierney

Emily van Egmond

Emma Jansson

Simone Sherwood

Jutta Rantala

Noémie Mouchon

Alisha Lehmann

Denny Draper

Hannah Cain

Rosella Ayane
