I think he'll get minutes anyway at Huddersfield.

Hopefully but I am not convinced he's anywhere near as effective in midfield as he is out wide and they now play wing backs.

Always going to be hard for Alves when lower leagues are dominated by 3 at the back with wing backs. I watch a lot of League two football and almost every team plays it, not sure about League 1 but it appears to be Huddersfield's preferred formation?

He just needs to play games, whatever the level.

True, at least they have the Football League Trophy game on the 13th which hopefully see him get 90 minutes.

Needs to find a way of forcing his way into the side.

Doesn't seem to have a lot of luck.

If he was here still as I feel he could have got minutes, I'd rather he got minutes the S.Thomas.

Looks like Alves’ main competition currently is Castledine - he plays as one of the 3 “centre mids” but often goes further forward and drifts wide left

Quite a lot of rumours that Chelsea are going to re-call / sell him so that then might give Alves more of a chance

Castledine is one to keep an eye on. I tipped him as a player for us to sign a year or two ago as he was one of the best PL2 performing players but was not getting any recognition from Chelsea. He should have been the one we got in the KDH deal and not Golding.

Should be all over him right now, loan to buy in the summer makes too much sense

Just said the same. He is now their chief ACM creator.

They will probably get a replacement midfielder, they are already light as it is.

If Alves does become their main man hopefully there isnt too much pressure to match Castledine's impressive goals tally.

The lad needs to be tested with pressure

I still think if he's not in their next couple of starting 11s you bring him back, if he's not going to play he may as well be not playing for us and be available as cover for both wing and 10

He could play very well for the rest of the season and still not match Castledine's 10 goals in 16 games.

It's up to Huddersfield fans what metrics they want to judge Alves by but i think it would be a bit unfair to expect the same output.

Yes agreed. Alves has never been massively prolific from U18 level upwards but creative wise he ought to be very strong at that level with assists and big chances created. Castledine is one of those midfielders who bags, was always double figures at PL2 level and carried it on in League One.

Still no start for Alves, bring him home give him a go here.

We are light on the wing and at 10.

Really hope this doesn’t end up being a rubbish loan for him. It’s looking that way though

Maybe hes just not very good

Maybe we should let him plays some football.

1 goal and 3 assist in 669 minutes at championship level with poor Cardiff side suggests other wise.

He performed better in the Championship with Cardiff than Silko did last season in League One who’s now starting for us

Right, and Braybrooke was wank and barely got a kick at Dundee, but you don't have to base your whole opinion on a single loan stint.
