If we recall him, its got to be because we think he has a part to play. You cant take a player from mens football and then go "ah thought you might fit in, u21s for you sorry"

Feel like him and Sammy could come back and play a part to be fair. We're at a stage where the bar is so low its almost impossible for them to disappoint

Well recall him, see what he looks like in training and if he’s not up to it - send him on loan to L1.

We need to integrate at least one other CM now as we only have Choudhury and Skipp contracted after this summer as senior CMs.

The reviews remind me of what you’d read about kdh… another good loan and he’ll be in our first team.

So glad we renewed his contract

He was honestly phenomenal on Saturday. Purely from a fan point of view I’d love to see him back here in January and given a go.

I can see him being recalled and sent somewhere in England.

It’s done Braybrooke wonders.

Feels like it'd make perfect sense to bring Sammy back here in Jan and recall Cartwright to send him in the other direction. HC gets a loan to a club where he'll be more likely to play 90 week-in week-out, Newport are happy because they get a mostly like-for-like replacement and we get to utilise one of our most promising academy talents.

Of course, that being the sensible choice means that instead we're more likely to leave Cartwright there where he'll fall out of favour, recall Braybrooke and fail to get him a loan elsewhere/integrate him into the XI and he'll play u21s again and Newport/Fuchs refuse to deal with us for the near future.

Newcastle seem to be heavily linked with Bilal El Khannouss for a summer 2026 buy - so now would it be a case of do they just give us the £22m or does Stuttgart, then sell (can they sell straight away?) to Newcastle for £30m+.
I know its an obligation to buy & you would imagine the reported low threshold to meet will be triggered but if Newcastle come in Bilal's head will be turned back to the Premier lge riches & therefore it could be him that says no to signing for Stuttgart on a perm, neither club can force either way unless he's bound himself into the same agreement which i doubt, maybe we could squeak a couple of £m more out of the deal if that happens.

If its obligation then terms would already be agreed.

So it'd just be a quick flip for profit i guess lol

I have a feeling the player is not obligated into the same agreement so we could (hopefully) be talking to Newcastle next summer - but yes if i was Stuttgart id push for the deal to be done then flip

Pretty sure they agree the contract and everything if its an obligation. Its essentially a transfer but they get to delay the payment for a year.

If its optional then the price is agreed, but the player isn't bound by it. So them or the buying club can opt out.

Really good watch this and a really well put together video. Nice to see a bit about Falkirk as well.

Hopefully they do more of these in the future.

Be interesting to see what the future holds for him here as we’ll be losing Winks & Soumare next summer. So will be needing some midfield additions

Yep I hope they caught the train back via Newport

Hopefully Braybrooke turns out to be another KDH situation. Seemingly in the academy forever and took a while to reach his potential but eventually got there.

I think braybrooke actually has a higher ceiling and I know that’s a wild thing to suggest.

It really isn't. He was massively hyped from a young age and if you watched his debut, not sure I've seen a young player look so assured/demanding the ball like he did. His physicality was always going to be the potential stumbling block, so it's just whether the injury and lack of development time, has really hampered that aspect. Otherwise he'd 100% have been a regular member of the squad, a potentially would have already moved beyond us.

Cartwright came on at HT with Falkirk 2-0 down at Hibs. Did well and was probably one of their better players.

The Hibs commentators were very complementary about him. Was playing pretty deep compared to higher up the other game.

Not sure we have seen enough of him in man football to tell.

If he end up doing as well as KDH we'd be very happy.
