In fairness to Top of went awry because we were really close to breaking that top 4 and he did the thing all football fans beg for, which was to take a risk and try to reach the unreachable. Obviously that meant we overextended by not selling that fateful summer and with PSR ramping up at a similar time it meant a bit of a gamble for the club. Let's face it, relegation was on nobody's lips at the start of that last Rodgers season, in fact Rodgers himself was the only person warning we hadn't done enough to refresh the squad, which hit hard combined with the earlier gamble. But who seriously wouldn't have wanted us to push that summer a few years ago, v when it really seemed we were on the edge of becoming a regular fixture in Europe. It's gone wrong, yes, but because of ambition and a chairman actually willing to take a risk. Id much rather that than what most other clubs have had.

I personally don’t think it was that at all. He was conned by Rodger’s admittedly and gave him the reigns. Blew over £250m on largely very poor signings. Where was the due diligence on Congerton, already a failure. Rodger’s stuck his nose in and changed recruitment that was previously successful, coaching and medical staff. The book stops at literally the ‘Top’. Vichai would have booted him out long before. His decision making has with the odd exception been just as bad since.

£0 Investment. Main reason we are not walking this league right now. Just walk away you despicable cvnt

Yes Top's fault but you do realise you can't spend what you don't have anymore.

We already have a pts deduction looming. I guess you would rather we spent more and got another one would you.

True !
But it’s took him years to realise that financially the club is in trouble !

Did he not realise that after year 1 a 70M loss needed to stop ?

Year 2 Top ?
year 3

Year 4

year 5

it’s truly hard to believe

Thankfully as wank as he is he seems to have realised it can't carry on.

Personally the sooner he fvcks off the better, but I'll give him some credit for this summer. Would have been easy to spend what we made but put us in more financial shit had we not gone up.

Was the interim CEO who wants to get more involved with the day to day running of the club there to lead in-person last night?!

Does he ever turn up or show any interest ?

If it gets to the stage that you’re not investing despite making profits through fear of being punished, you need to walk away.

King Power are done here, and the longer they stay the worse things will get for us.

Very true but I don’t think we’ve seen the worst of it yet

We haven’t. But the question remains, collectively as a fan base will we make a stance? I doubt it. The majority of the match day fanbase will just continue to clap this team into the abyss.

My mate went to that legends night tonight.

I quote

Danny Simpson absolutely loves the club but hates whats happening to it and they all other than huth seem dissapointed that they aren't involved in the club one way or another even if it was to bring that spirit back of them Pearson years/ranieri year . Rather strange how the most successful players in our history aren't being begged to come back and help out in some way really

Wes Morgan was promised a role once he completed his sport business degree but it got taken away because someone felt threatened …

My reply

If you could bottle what we had from Pearson and sell it, you’d be a billionaire in football terms

And his

Yeh mate basically what they've all said tonight. He and vichai are what made the club and team so special at that time.

I was there tonight. All said how they would want to come back to the club in some form to help change the culture. Simmo would literally die to play for us again. They know the club is rotten atm. The club haven’t reached out which is just unbelievable tbh, first thing I would do as an owner who is failing is bring some of that squad back, not just kingy.

Just another complete failure of the club.

Just read an article about Hearts start to the season since Tony Bloom bought into the club - they've signed players from all over Europe for pennies and they're smashing it. Improved across every aspect of the pitch.

Bloom has got to be one of the best owners in football right now, he has such a clear vision for how things need to be run and the strategy to get there - when you contrast that with the way this club is run, it's very, very depressing.

Genuinely think we're stuck with Top for quite some time, probably years and years, and even if he does sell up, I don't hold out any hope at all that we'll get anyone better. What a grim state of affairs.
