The way forward I think is definitely Ricardo at RB with a license to get forward with Hamza in midfield with Winks.

It's not ideal but I think that's the strongest midfield and means Skipp and Soumare are nowhere near the team.

For all Choudhury's criticism he adds bite to the midfield and you can never accuse him of not trying.

Spot on.

If Soumare put the same amount of effort in as Hamza, he'd be the best player in the league. Choudhury is limited, but I'm truly sick of watching players who can't be arsed.

I was just trying to work out when we had a worse squad than we do now?

Must have been pre-2013?

The 2007-2008 squad was probably better.

This is who we had for the opening game that season, where we lost 1-0 at home to Blackpool.

Henderson, Chambers (Stearman 65), McAuley, N'Gotty, Mattock (Hayes 69), Newton, Kishishev (Campbell 55), Clemence, Wesolowski, Hume, De Vries.

Subs Not Used: Nielsen, Fryatt.

Stearman and McAuley went on to have goodish careers in the Premier League, Hume ended up a dependable Championship striker and N'Gotty and Kishishev at least had some pedigree.

League 2?

Winks and Faes really need to go. They are clearly better than the options that are starting ahead of them but don't want to be here so all they are doing is assuring that crap players start ahead of them and they are actively weakening the team by their meere presence. You think they would get the hint that if anyone wanted them, they would have signed them by now and get over themselves. There is a reason the fans don't like them.

Personally I think what the club has been doing is a step in the right direction. We've all been saying drain the swamp and it's finally happening.

It's not going to be a walk in the park but this squad desperately needed open heart surgery which it seems to be getting and I think this summer window will age better with time.

Na I think this squad is alot better than that. Which isn't saying much given what that cast of luminaries went on to achieve.

I'm happy to see Monga and Page starting but I also think the lineup (and squad) as a whole is miserable. Somehow, I am able to hold these opinions at the same time - what a marvel

We haven’t signed anyone but a back up goalkeeper. Who else do you expect to see in the line up to make it better?

Playing 2 16 year olds feels reckless. If they get hurt it's on the club.

Do you remember Dave Buchanan and Andy Peake in the late 70'ies. Also 16 and 17 alongside Keith Weller in his wife's long white underwear. Leicester won that match against Norwich .:scarf:Repeat today

Soumare and Skipp = Lost.

Just loan a youngster from the prem, someone on a free, anyone! We’ll get battered today that team is horrendous. Be interesting to see whether set piece specialist Ayew takes the free kicks and corners again too.

Tbf that team did go down with 52 points and the second best defensive record in the division, they just couldn't score.

The fact it's even a debate is terrifying though.

This squad is obviously a lot better. It's just a lot of our supporters are trapped in a doom spiral.

Id expect Page to be taking quite a few - hes always looked decent at them.

I reckon at least 5 of those shots on target are Ayew from 30 yards

The team selection doesn’t look too inspiring, but let’s get behind them and pick up 3pts. There are clubs in far worse shape than us, hopefully the light at the end of the tunnel will come soon.

BIG positive - Monga and Page starting. That’s the future.

New signings in this week please  we are going nowhere until we sort the midfield out. On saying that though are Charlton that good I'm still expecting a positive result in spite of what's going on at the moment.
