They shouldn't but I wouldn't be surprised to see them give it to King in the interim whilst they wait and see what happens with Potter and Sweden in March with how much of a hard on they have had for him (3 approaches since Rodgers left I think)

Especially now they could let him get his own technical director / director of football which he apparently wanted before

I shouldn’t have been passive aggressive so as much there so apologies for that.

I do disagree with this point though. What we need, short and long term, is defensive stability, hard work and discipline. We are in the top 6 for goal scored I think. Whilst we watch us and know we create little, we are, most of the time, scoring enough to win games. We are then second worst I believe for goals conceded. Even short term this season, we’d benefit a lot more from someone who could improve these areas.

Ange doesn’t bring this. He is emotional and chaotic. We don’t have the ability to score so many more that we can continue to be as shambolic defensively. I’d sooner have a Mowbray type to go back to basics as that’s what we need to do.

Think back to the great escape season with Pearson. We didn’t conceded more than 2 goals in a game that many times for a struggling side. We were in games all the time. Even this season, in this league, the amount of times we are not even competitive in games is shocking. And that’s down to defensive structure, attitude and discipline. Give me a Morgan type, a Fuchs type. Start at the back and go back to basics. That is what this club needs.

I agree with needing more defensive structure. I just can't think of any decent names that could provide that right now. Mowbray is 62 years old, I don't even think its an option.

Potter is not dropping down to manage a championship club.

Im really expecting Russell Martin. It feels like fate. His appointment comes with a really big positive in that it frees up a few extra weekends for me, because I won't support a RM Leicester.

Just give it Kingy. Last time we were this low and shite he was a catalyst in turning it around as a player. I dont see any realistic experienced options that'll improve us. You could give Pep this squad and we'd fail.. at least with King he knows the ins and outs and the attitudes already.

Oh yeah I really don't want him

But Top / Rudkin seem to be obsessed with him

No brainer.

Marti out Andy King in until end of season.

On what grounds should Kingy be given it till the end of the season ahead of appointing Mowbray or Rowett?

Or going for Hassenhuttl?

I'm the short term I could get on board with Martin. Just to see some organisation and a set style of play. Talk about low bars but that's what Marti's done to me.

We would literally need to have no brain to trust somebody who has never managed to secure our survival this season.

So they won’t have a succession plan, King will be interim, we will immediately have an upturn in form and they’ll just keep kicking the can down the road until the end of the season. Pretty obvious how it’ll play out.

There’s absolutely no evidence that this group of players could adapt to the type of football Martin would want them to play, it would be a complete disaster.

Bloody hell some of our fans are completely delusional. Suggesting Potter, Ange, Belamy.... Some even saying Potter is garbage. We're awful, some terrible and over paid players, our owner is a clown who's simply not interested in us anymore, Rudkin still doing Rudkin things, no money. We'd be lucky to get Ian Holloway to accept the role of this shit show.

What about his achievements at Ingolstadt and Leipzig?

And Southampton have really excelled without him havent they?

No group of players at any club have been able to adopt Russellball.
