Leicesterpool Posted 4 February Posted 4 February Gus Poyet as mentioned previous could be that random appointment we make, similar to Ranieri. Noticed his odds dropped recently. He's out of work at present. Big question as he been out of England too long.

I was genuinely taken back by this choice. How can people not see that this man should/cannot possibly be a starting 11 player! He's the absolute dictionary description of 'substitute to bring on with 10 minutes left', and no more! I don't know why anyone was in support of him being anymore than a temporary option. A coach with a a year or so coaching experience should never have been an option for more than a couple weeks 6

Unfortunately Top & Rudkin don't do forward planning as they work on a whim all the time, so they'll see no urgency in replacing King which will be a very costly mistake. I wouldn't be at all surprised if King is still in charge at the end of the season 1

I understand why people have reservations about King (I have them myself), but his choice of striker last weekend was Ayew or Daka, neither of whom look remotely like starting 11 players for us. What was he supposed to do? 10

What was he supposed to do? The advantage with Daka is at least he attempts to run in behind, so defences are pushed back. Ayew plays better as a supporting striker - he had some good matches supporting Vardy - rather than the no.9 but as you say, it's not much of a choice! Hopefully the next manager finds a system to get the best out of the players. 2

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 4 February Posted 4 February How long did it take them to appoint the last manager, 72 days was it? Given all the other vacancies at the club, I think it is a serious possibility that we won't have a manager in place before the end of the season. 1

I would bet a lot of money to say that they are banking on King getting a couple of wins in the next 4/5 games and giving him the gig until the end of the season. I'm very sure that had we won on Saturday they would have happily announced him as the manager until June. They're completely winging it. It's frightening. 11 1

I was very worried that the squad was essentially exactly what we'd seen under Cifuentes. All season it's looked like we've asked Chat GPT how to play football like Enzo Maresca. 1
BigGibbo Posted 4 February Posted 4 February I reckon we're going to bumble on with our fingers crosses and a skeleton crew lead by a self-professed youth team coach who isn't ready to manage a championship relegation scrap and then be all overcome with shock at how we could possibly get relegated with this wage bill/squad. Would be the most King Power & Rudkin thing to do. 1

When one plays, the other becomes more popular, and vice versa. Edited 4 February by ClaphamFox 9 1

We all know deep down that, although he would run around a lot, Daka would have build rubbish, and most would be saying it was the sort of game that suited Ayew (hurts just typing that). I wish he had played Daka, but we all know that its a terrible decision to have to make. Edited 4 February by Chelmofox

Hopefully that's not possible as he's made it clear that isn't what he wants at present, so, if they hang him out to dry and try to use him as a scapegoat, that might actually be the thing that finally has the KP Nutters take pause for thought and turn on Top. 🙏 Every cloud an' all that... 😅
Spanner73 Posted 4 February Posted 4 February Dumb & Dumber have burned 🔥🔥 that many managerial bridges that you’d have to be absolutely desperate to want the job ! I think they’ll give it to King, loads of experience in getting his badges a year ago as no one else wants it ! A fantastic decision !!

DJW1 Posted 4 February Posted 4 February Based on his performance in the Championship (15th and 10th at Swansea, promotion at Saints), I'd be happy to have Russell Martin. Right now I don't care about the playing style, results are all that matter (although he did make a slow start at Saints) 2
STUHILL Posted 4 February Posted 4 February I get the feeling that Top and Rudkin are praying that King picks up a couple of wins, so they can offer it him until the end of the season for barely any money. 3
ClaphamFox Posted 4 February Posted 4 February For no particular reason I think they have a target in mind who has told us he’s not available until the summer, and they’re struggling to find someone who’s happy to take on the interim gig in the meantime. So King it is for the foreseeable. 1

I think he would be more likely to take us down than any other names linked so far. He seems to rub people the wrong way, and as we have a team full of divas, I think it would be a match made in hell. Avoid.

He’s an arrogant ***** who thinks he’s better than what he actually is and has 1 promotion with Southampton. Lucky bastard. Edited 4 February by winteriscoming 1
DJW1 Posted 4 February Posted 4 February If he comes in and we finish 15th, we'll be running on the pitch to carry him on our shoulders, unless we get tasered by the KP ICE squad
