Also letting Kasper go was a huge mistake. He’d still get in our side now at 39, and one of few genuine leaders we had.

Looked like an absolute lug last night I'll be honest...

Soumare is one of the most mismanaged players we’ve ever had. Could easily be a consistent performer in the Premier League under the right manager/team with his attributes.

When someone fails under so many managers, you have to start looking a little closer to home.

His attitude has been abysmal since he arrived. That's before you even start on what might have been with ability.

Interesting.  So how exactly do you go about getting a tune out of Soumare?

I think he has to be an 8 in a 433 in English football with legs around him.

The thing is he’s not really good enough to demand changing the system around just to suit him, and I think in general none of our midfielders really compliment each other.

Both he and Winks are two of the most talented midfielders in the league but playing them together as a double pivot is horror.

There’s been no joined up thinking in signing players that compliment each other for a few years now.

I think he would have been good in Maresca’s system as an 8.

    Okoli Vestergaard Nelson

             Skipp Ricardo (LB)

          James  Soumare

 Fatawu                     Mavididi

                   Daka

I'd be intrigued to see how that would work

Soumare has now played over 100  games for us and I can't recall anything he's done.

He was a title winner in France, he maybe a decent player (if pmcla26 wants to argue that), but it doesn't work in England especially the Championship. A lot of the time he dailies, and is caught out, I just don't see how he works in any position.

He has played under 5(?) managers here. Most players would have some sort of purple patch under at least one. An expensive and virtually forgettable spell.

Soumare doesn't have any football intelligence and he moves like Henry VIII. I can't wait until he's gone

We're talking Parr era Henry VIII too, not Field of the Cloth of Gold era Henry.

This is how I'll remember him. I remember thinking at the time, I've never seen anything like it. These days, it's the norm.
