Doesn’t it just mean they are extending, expecting a further season in the champ. Or are they trying to borrow against the the next 45% now

"Receivables" means all of the Central Funds due or owing to or which may be due or owing to or purchased or otherwise acquired or received by the Borrower from the Premier League for the period from and including February 2026 up to and including June 2027, in each case together with all ancillary and security rights thereto;

It means we've realised we've not got a hope in hell of getting promoted this season.

Probably confirms zero incoming, and probably accounts for Marti losing his shit and storming off too lol

Just extending the overdraft facility and yes assumes we are not going anywhere this year but only a fool thought we would. We like to hope but reality was always we would not. Next season hope starts again.

Possible although I would suggest that the initial thinking was that the need was only for the 25/26 monies but now there clearly is a need to get extra cash in.

Likely that there won’t be any PL cash to help fund season 26/27 .

But we've now secured one loan against two payments. So we wont receive our parachute payments next season, they'll go straight to Macquarie.

So effectively there's no money to invest in the squad now or next season.

Or a shit or bust approach this season by utilising the second parachute payment and either spend or limit breaches this season

It’s a bit complicated but drawing down money in advance will do nothing to help with PSR/FFP. The income won’t be counted until it’s paid by the PL .

What this does is aid cash flow not increase income in 25/6 to the detriment of 26/7

What about if they do the same thing again next season? And utilise the 20 percent early if we are still a championship side in the hope that by then overheads have massively reduced and we are much more inline with championship financials by season 3

Mate if we spend £55m this window i'll set up an Only Fans where I exclusively wear masks of Anthony Herlihy and John Rudkin performing acts on a lifelike sex doll of Top.....

So assuming we don't go up. Our main income for next season is already spoken for.

Which means we likely means sell Fatawu and Bilal. Borrow money against those, then use that cash to fund the club, alongside ticket/merch income next season?

So, I'd expect we'll see a fairly heavy dose of academy players in next season's squad.

45% of the stake wouldn’t be that much, but if Terraloon is correct and he seems fairly well versed in these matters it’s being potentially used to aid cash flow for some reason.

Fair play for replying to that comment of mine so seriously.

I am pretty sure that as it was only one season in the PL before relegation there isn’t another 20% . The payments are only paid in year one and two

I think it drops every year,

Parachute payments

Given to clubs relegated from the Premier League in the last three years (and not promoted in that period)

55% of equal share in Year One

45% in Year 2
20% in Year 3

Edit, no you’re correct there was a rule change in 2016/17 to stop clubs gaming the system

20% in Year 3

So 45% of £116m is £52m... I wasn't far off ;)

We’re not getting a striker until 2030

Finley Vardy will be 13 by then, would make him the youngest starting striker in the national league but still....

Copied from wiki

Parachute payments are unique to the English game and currently see clubs relegated from the Premier League receive a percentage of the equally shared element of broadcasting rights each Premier League club receives. This percentage drops progressively over a three-year period – 55% in the first year, 45% in year two and, if the club was in the Premier League for more than one season before relegation, 20% in the third year. (However, if a club is only in the Premier League for one season, it will not receive the 20% share in the third year)

More alarming is the FD can't get his act together to do the confirmation statement - my guess is due to the new gov.uk one log in is causing chaos - because all directors now have to have their own unique submission reference, I presume Top and Apichet haven't been checking their emails lol

They will be getting a First Gazette notice soon.
