I don't even think we can look at the modicum positives in that Martin's transfer track record isn't too bad as it'll still be conducted by Glover and Rudkin primarily. I actually think Glover should go down as one of the worst in the business, we have been diabolical since he came in and makes Lee Congerton look like Monchi.

not wrong, for every 1 decent player he seems to get 9 rancid ones

all these "scouts, Head of recuitment etc", it feels like they do **** all for 99% of the time, we on this forum could probably come up with 50 players within a day under a certain price who would improve this squad next season

I listen to a football podcast about Exeter City, one of the Co-Hosts is very close to the club, and is brother is on the board at the club.

He said we’re sniffing round their striker, Jayden Wareham.

Scored 19 in 46 appearances for a team that went down.

Meh

Would definitely take him as our number 9 for next season

Yeah it is.. been listening since the start, more out of habit than anything!

Loose link, but stats don’t look bad for a relegated side.

Would prefer Dom Ballard if we can get him, sounds like we're still very interested in Lorent Tolaj as well.

Ballard started out at Southampton.
Nothing else matters that’s him definitely signed then.

Right, for some reason I have the urge to list some potential ball-playing goalkeeper options for Russell ball.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t be surprised if we turn to Gavin Bazunu, Andy Fisher or another ex-Southampton, Angus Gunn. But here’s a few other names that would be ideal…

Joe Whitworth(Crystal Palace) & Teddy Sharman-Lowe(Chelsea)

Both went on loan to League 1 clubs last season. They ranked 1st and 2nd for pass completion%, 1st and 3rd for short passes per90 and 1st and 2nd for lowest average pass length. Whitworth ranked better for save percentage and prevented goals. Not sure if we could get them permanently, but a loan move for either would make sense.

Calum Ward - Motherwell

A goalkeeper with the last name Ward :frantics: but he’s coming off an excellent season at Motherwell. He made the PFA Scotland team of the year, along with making the most clean sheets in the SPFL. Statistically he ranked 2nd for pass completion%, 1st for short passes per90 and 2nd for lowest average pass length. He also ranked 2nd for save percentage and prevented goals.

Elias Hadaya(Sandefjord) & Albert Posiadala(Molde)

Two goalkeepers based in Scandinavia 😍 They currently rank 1st and 2nd for pass completion%, 1st and 2nd for short passes per 90 and 2nd and 3rd for lowest average pass length. Posiadala currently leads the Eliteserien for save percentage and prevented goals. Hadaya ranks 5th and 8th in those metrics.

Marian Aioani - Rapid Bucuresti

Ranked 1st last season for short passes per90 and lowest average pass length. He ranked 5th for save percentage with a respectable 73%, while he ranked 3rd for prevented goals.

Realistically the above names should be available for either loan, or around or below £1 million.

Honourable mentions to Amir Saipi(Lugano) and Pascal Loretz(Luzern), but price wise and ceiling wise, they’ll probably get better than League 1.

We need a proper club captain as no present players up to it. Once on the pitch players need to adapt to opposition tactics as the managers influence is limited. Senior players on the pitch see what is happening around them and can sort junior players out at any level. Last season the captain, Riccardo, had very  little on field influence, seeing Hamza pick up the captain's armband filled me with dread. We need strong characters all over the pitch as in the Premier League winning season.

We're going to want/need a new number 6 to suit Martin's system as Winks will hopefully be off. I've watched quite a bit of Motherwell this season just gone and really wanted Berthel Askou here. Their 6, Elliot Watt would be ideal for us if he didn't cost us too much. Already well drilled in the role and he'd be pretty sensational for us in League One and more than good enough in the Championship too. Here's a decent video on him, showing why he'd be so suited to Martin's system
