Some no mark from Southampton in for a far superior half arsed Winks, so apart from Lascelles, it's the same old gibberish. But most seem happy No Ayew though, that alone is a thumbs up from me 4

Pretty pointless at this stage to keep flogging a dead horse. Which is way he brought it Daka. I think you see Richards and Mukasa get minutes. It was unlikely he was going to bring in 4 new players who have probably trained a couple times with the squad.
Popular Post Product of 84 Posted 7 February Popular Post Posted 7 February Aribo adds height and strength. As much as I love watching Page he has been done at set pieces that have cost us a goal. We've lacked height and strength for far to long across the squad. Something the new manager will need to address in the summer. 5

BrilliantFox Posted 7 February Posted 7 February A midfield pivot of Aribo & Skipp looks shocking. Why is Winks benched when he is our best midfielder available? 2

Not a striker that’s played under about 4 managers and managed 2 goals in 2 seasons. That said he will probably score today, now there are some other options

I understand this view but Ayew stinks out the game in many areas as well as upfront, Daka just stinks upfront. If this means not seeing Ayew with his two wooden legs hobble and face like he's been licking piss off a nettle because he didn't get a free kick for falling over even though no one touched him all while ignoring his open team mates, I'll take Daka. Until he trips over his own feet while running towards an open goal. Edited 7 February by Richmondfox 3

I'm no Daka fan but I don't see Richards as the saviour either just yet. What he does do is give us options. Biggest issue is Ayew dropping deep and suffocating the space for our 10 and wingers, at least Daka can stretch the field vertically. 1

Just chuck Vestegaard's dog upfront to do the same job Daka does.

Surprised with Begovic's start (but down with it) disappointed Aluko isn't in for Thomas (or anyone really even a fan from the stands) Page in for BdCR, the rest looks OK to start. Whilst Daka is.....well..Daka at least he will press and work which is a 1000% improvement on Ayew's slowing of play, and stopping play when looking for free kicks in what may be a match where we have a limited amount of promising attacking opportunities, something his stupid antics will just stunt if he plays. For me it's also about how we apply ourselves today, along with a evidence of style of play. If we see less Tippy Tappy sh1t and a obvious shift say towards going forward, but crucially with some actual intent or whatever King thinks is best, I'll be happier. Just a few tweaks to the starting lineup, however sorely needed, won't be enough going forward, we need to see even just the start of a move away from "Marti's non tactics" until the new manager arrives and makes there own mark.

We need to be using is sparingly. 1
