We wouldn't have stayed up for any manager. The players are wombles

I was only half paying attention to his interview after the game so can't remember the exact quote but he said something to the effect of it being the same story as the last few games, same patterns, same problems - no ****ing shit. He neglects to ever do anything differently and then seems confused when the outcomes don't change either. "We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas!"

People want the players to get raked over the coals which I get but I don't think it's ever a particularly good idea for managers to do it in public, and to me the stuff he's been coming out with recently comes across less as frank honesty aimed to motivate and more as him trying to absolve himself of any responsibility. Yeah the squad probably isn't equipped for a relegation battle but that's the position we're in and unfortunately it is actually your job to come up with a way of getting us out of it.

I remember RVN doing exactly the same last season.

It's infuriating when they constantly pick the same players.

It's a similar thing to when we got rid of Cooper.  Just because Ruud was shit does not mean getting rid of Cooper was the wrong decision.  Rowett being tragic does not mean sacking Marti was the wrong decision.

Problem is it's the same cxxt making the same mistakes with the appointments.

Provided we immediately come back up, going down will provide the clear out and reset the club needs which it wouldn’t necessarily get in this division.

Clutching at straws, but maybe even Jonny Boy will walk.

Midfield trio of Braybrooke, Cartwright and Page will likely be fine under the right guidance next season.

It’s the right guidance but we struggle with. Really we haven’t appointed a decent manager since Enzo. He was pure luck. The club has no clue, no real strategy, it will be more of the same

genuinely, bomb out as many of the senior players as possible and start with a core of: Stolarcyk; Aluko, Nelson, Gray, Thomas; Braybrooke, Cartwright, Page; Evans, Hutchinson, Alves.

Needs supplementing with some senior pros (emphasis on professionals), like last league one campaign with Berner and Powell, and a new keeper and left back, but I would back that team to beat the current first team tbh

You can only go on their respective records, Marti was capable of winning games and scoring 3 goals in a game.

Rowett also had the benefit of the additional players signed late in the window.

Based on their points per game and goals per match they are worlds apart.

I stopped reading after Stolarcyk...

Spot on, the board only heard of Maresca when he turned down a offer to go to Southampton after they sacked Hasenhutl and then Celtic were interested in him and he didn't want bro go there either

Maresca physically applied for the job and sold a dream to Bottom himself…the club didn’t proactively go and fetch him from anywhere.

Rowett has also been clueless but I am not having that Cifuentes keeps us up. I saw absolutely NOTHING to suggest that was the case.

Apart from wins against Ipswich, Derby x2 and WBA before he was sacked, in the same amount of time his replacement has one solitary win in what was being creamed over by many as the easiest run in

if you carried on reading you'd see the words Needs [...] a new keeper, but as things are he's the only keeper at the club not old enough to remember the destruction of Carthage

Wasn't it Wassermann who phoned up Rudkin? Rather than Enzo applying for the job himself

Only way he can claw back anything for me is if he publicly slaughters the players and board. But he'll be strictly contracted to not - it's probably why they take so long to get anybody in place.

Waste of time this bloke. I feared he'd be another Dean Smith - I was wrong, he's comfortably worse.

The WBA was pure and utter luck, they out played us totally. The other 3 games are the ONLY ones we deserved to win under him at all. He was incredibly lucky. If you say he deserved 9 points, the stats have been the same all season. He was taking us down. We had those games against Sheff Utd and QPR, awful home performances against Portsmouth, Blackburn and Wrexham

He was a clown, out of his depth, let’s not whitewash it.

At some point over 30 odd games you make your own luck, it’s quite the sample size. No luck for Garry over 11 then?

Should have been going after these anyway, but not going long and chucking Souttar on to attempt and cause some issues towards the end stinks of a stubborn manager with zero initiative

I’d wouldn’t say we were making anything under him. A few worldies and mom performances from James, that’s it. Rowett has been shite but let not pretend Marti was good and he wasn’t the reason we are here. It’s not his fault he was given a job he should never have got.

I mean, we didn't even throw the keeper up for a free kick with 30 seconds to go and absolutely needing a goal... He's got no urgency about him, you could watch this lack of effort and assume we were in 12th going nowhere and just counting down the minutes to the end of the season, rather than in a desperate need for points to survive
