I woke up yesterday morning with a glimmer of hope. But that performance, especially second half just blew any hope I had away 😔 Even Oxford beating West Brom didn't lift me because I can't see us winning another game this season, not even the one against Sheffield Wednesday!

First half we held them just but no threat from us. At half time their manager clearly said step up the energy we have these. And yes that’s all it took. We have had multiple managers now who it appears cannot see that `daka is a complete and utter waste of time as a footballer. The minute you play either him or Ayew we are down to 20 men. Yesterday Cordova Reid took us down to 9 players. Fatawu going AWOL took us down to 8. Uping the energy took winks out of the game second half. That’s the story of this squad we always are 2-3 players AWOL.

Think we are going to be a lot better away than at home for the rest of the season, Rowatt sets up very defensively and our home crowd (rightfully) is on edge constantly especially when we don’t have the ball which I do think bleeds onto the pitch. Gonna be very tricky for us to stay up, next three you’d want 5-7 points realistically and I just do not see it

We are in that situation where we are relying on other results to save us. I have missed the last 2 matches and watching the highlights back, it seems i made a better use of my time not watching.

I couldn't believe the attendance today either. I really hope another boycott happens soon.

We will go down as a divided fan base and its sad. It really is.

No, we're just in a position where other results might either help or harm our chances of staying up.

Just seen Riccy's interview quote come up on my LCFC app.

'We are dissapointed'

WTF. He should be seething. And he should be horrified with how he is conducting himself as captain.

Unfortunately it’s been evident so many times this season that he is no leader.

He only has the captain’s armband because he’s one of the most experienced.

Another one going through the motions as he knows he’ll be gone in the summer having made a huge salary in the meantime, along with Daka who may as well be invisible. F****ing useless.

Play the kids.

Me and my boys thought the same. They were good on the ball, pressed really well and looked rock solid at the back. A very well coached team. I've come away from lots of games this season wondering how we could have lost to such poor quality opposition. Yesterday was not one of those games. We were simply well beaten by a much better team.

Worrying thing is I watch them play us in November and thought ****ing hell these are dreadful. I struggle to name any of their players too. Very good performance by them on Saturday.

No need to listen as it'll be the same old words that we've been hearing for two seasons. Not interested about how disappointed they are and how hard they are working in training. Enough.

I think this sums it perfectly:

Because he isn't captain. He just gets it by default by being the most stale player in the squad.

I am a little bit of a stats nerd at times. Do find expected goals interesting, but this season flash scores have added an even deeper version - expected goals on target (xGOT) interesting as well which basically measures the expected goals based on the shots on target - the quality of shots. It's a good way to measure a goalkeepers shot stopping.

The data... good gracious me. However bad you think we are, we're even worse.

What we've conceded is about right. I've got us down as conceding based on the shots faced... 55.62. We've let in 56.

What we've scored is the alarming bit. We've scored 47 goals which is decent, but based on our shot quality, we should have scored 38 goals. We've benefitted from bad goalkeeping against us more often than we realise.

In terms of shot stopping our goalkeepers have been pretty average on the whole.

Number of games we've produced xGOT of under 1.00 in a game out of 35... 18. Compared to just 8 times against us.

We've also 'lost' by this metric in our last FOURTEEN games. Fourteen! Ipswich, funnily enough, the last time we 'won'.

We've 'won' on quality of shots taken just 11 times in 35 games.

Conclusion is as I suspected = we're actually fortunate to even be 22nd. We could very easily have scored fewer goals than we have done. If our goalkeepers were actually as bad as made out we would literally have about 25 points.

I just cannot believe this is a team that can stay up. It's absolutely atrocious. Diabolical.

Also on this... did a bit of a delve into Stolarczyk against Begovic.

Begovic has actually been pretty comfortably poorer than Stolarczyk in terms of shot stopping. He is not a silver bullet for this team.

Stolarczyk has definitely gotten worse in time (as just about everybody does here) but he's still prevented more than he 'should' have done. Though I don't think shot stopping is really his weakness.

Great player back in the day but another one who has let the culture of the club take over him. Zero standards, doesn't give a crap, happy to take the money and barely turn up each week.

He shouldn't still be starting he was finished 2 years ago, yet we still persist with him and our signings are that bad that he has to play every week.
