I felt with the way we had most of the ball and them hardly breaking forward the double pivot or 6  & 8 of Skipp and Winks was over the top caution, firstly we didn’t need that much safety and security (the goal was an error riddled gift) and secondly they both found themselves high up the pitch in uncomfortable territory and in good shooting positions (for players who can shoot).  Whoever shouted. “Shoooot” to them when they’re 25 yards out, have they seen them regularly!

I would have been brave but after seeing that for 30 minutes bring on say BDR (presuming James  is not ready for more than 35-30 mins yet)  who for all his many faults does have a better shot on him than they do and doesn’t get a nosebleed when in the final 3rd.

Similarly nothing coming down the left wing yet again, it was a waste of a shirt, address it earlier, Ibdon’t know which cereal box Mavididi got his free pass in but it’d in-defendable now (unlike him).

In defence of the Choudhury introduction I’m sure it was purely down to Ricardo being shot (check spelling), unable to contribute, risking an error and risking being unavailable next week, it was a boring change that didn’t look like helping the situation of needing goals but like the recent Lascelles withdrawls a necessary move. The ideal would be to only field players capable of lasting the game and not needing to waste a substitution which could have been a progressive one (who am I kidding!).

If our tactic of choice is to get Thomas to hurl long throws into the box (well into the keepers hands) then Souttar as a nominal striker joined by the 2 CB’s may have given us a better chance than Ayew trying to make any connection.

In short amongst all our other deficiencies game management was abysmal and not pro-active or reactive enough, I called it early on “If we don’t do something about it it’s going to be a 0-0……well nearly right.

Another point about the access and not liking questions- for years we were the biggest story in the region. Trophies, Europe, Vardy etc. Now Notts Forest and Derby will be in a higher division, Lincoln will command a lot of coverage. Even a bit further afield, Aston Villa and Coventry will be in the Premier League.

We will drift further in terms of interest (beyond the initial decline, collapse coverage). Media outlets will not be queuing up to get in.

Backwards and sideways everywhere we go!!!

It took the crowd getting on their backs in the first half for the team to

start driving forward after which we had probably our best spell of the game.

Ok, let’s look at one point.

New corporate structure. New ceo. Who does the chief football officer report into ? Chairman.

Who does the new football director report into ? The Football officer.

Who does the CFO report into ? Oh sorry, there isn’t one.

what happens next season. Glover being useless gets a call - buy this player matey - I need some commission. Sure

Glover calls DOF.

DOF calls Chief football officer

Twat officer calls twat chairman - no answer

The pure corporate structure is ineffective so one man can maintain his control. That control is ego - it isn’t for legacy. It isn’t for the good of the business. It isn’t because it’s effective.

Meaning well - sure. He wants the club to do well. But he wants it to well on his say so only. His control. His ego.

I think you've hit upon something important here that we haven't mentioned as much so far. What appears to some as an ego-driven approach to leadership may have something to do with the difference between Thai and western business cultures. Thai corporations apparently tend to be very top down, with decision-making concentrated in a small group of board members, a strong emphasis on rewarding loyalty and a tendency to avoid confrontation (especially towards one's superiors). The way our club has been run under Top is entirely consistent with that. The problem is, when power is very concentrated and there is a culture of not confronting the leaders, you're completely dependent on those leaders being exceptional at their jobs. And if they're not, well....

I’m not buying into  this excuse of “the players can’t play any other way”. They are pros, they’ve played the game from an early age, they have the best fitness facilities, support of paid fitness coaches and physios, and access to all manner of aids to improve their skills and game.

So GR, AK and the rest should be able to coach them to press properly, contest every second ball, mark their man or their zone, run hard, raise their effort when the team is struggling, accept and follow a change in formation or structure etc etc. Why can’t we do that as a team? Other teams in this  division have over the course of this season.

In our great escape season I remember we’d start games at full throttle, maintain it until about 60 minutes - although we’d often be knackered , with fresh legs on and everyone giving it their all we’d manage to hang on.

Why are Swansea celebrating like they've beaten Barca and not a relegation fodder side?

Because wage wise and club size we are a massive fish . Even if it is an under performing pile of dog excrement on every level.

I wonder if they email the players on Monday morning?

Dear (insert players name here)

We noticed that yet again, you couldn't be arsed to even remotely put any effort into your performance on Saturday.

We would welcome your feedback as to the reasons behind this.

Yours.......
